Great way to get involved with getting Prop 19 passed if you're NOT Californian

Just Say Now: Phonebank to End the War on Marijuana

You sign up, and they give you a script and numbers of Cali voters one by one, you record their answers, and then click next and go on to the next one. They seem to be targeting almost entirely young people (makes sense) and this could REALLY make a difference so I encourage you guys if you've got some free time to do this for a while... young people have the worst voter turnout and if this is going to pass it's CRUCIAL that they be reminded what's at stake if they haven't been paying attention to the news and such.

What if we don't want 19 to pass? What if it's just Oaksterdam fuckery? Look who stands to profit from it, and then look who funded it. Turns out to be the same guy. Funny, huh?

And what if the Feds carry through on their promise to come after us if it passes? What then? It could set us back ten fucking years.

I understand everybody wants to be able to buy smoke at the corner store (as you should be able to), but you need to look at the bigger picture.

Uh... what??? They're ALREADY coming after us. You could have said the same thing back when medical MJ laws were getting passed. And the DEA will just not be able to wage a war against the entire state of California. There will be a massive public outcry.

If you like weed, which I'm guessing you do since you have over 1200 posts on a forum dedicated to it, you're crazy to NOT support this. And I couldn't care less if the government makes money off taxing weed, if I get to freaking smoke a joint LEGALLY and buy it LEGALLY and freaking grow it in plain sight in my back yard LEGALLY then I'll be happy.

If you think weed could EVER be legalized without being taxed ala alcohol and tobacco you're just flat out crazy.

So like long distance volunteer telemarketing?

Sounds aweful
It's not "telemarketing" it's raising awareness of the fact that YES there is a bill to legalize pot on the ballot this Tuesday. You'd be astonished how many people in my age bracket (22) aren't even aware of prop 19's existence. The goal is not to convince someone over the phone to vote in favor, it's just to let them know, HEY there's a vote going on to legalize pot! And like I said, the phone numbers they give you are always of 18-30 year olds (i.e. the people most likely to be in favor of legalizing and most likely to not vote).

And if you're not willing to volunteer to help legalize pot in the biggest and most influential state in the union then well... you're just selfish, lazy and self-defeating, because if this passes, you can bet it will get the wheels turning for a federal end to prohibition as well.

Beardo. Your my hero.

I love how the educated among us (cali residents or not) understand that voting no is really the way to go. Why create more laws and tax on something you can already grow and smoke legally that just got decriminalized?

I'm on my way to vote in an hour-I hope all our hard work has paid off and we can vote NO on the creation of new marijuana crimes

What in my post makes you think my objection has anything to due with taxation?

Things have changed since then. They've stopped coming after us. Remember a year or so ago when the Feds said that they would no longer fuck with legal MMJ users and providers in MMJ states?

All things prohibited come with a price tag in the form of concessions. I'm sure every one of us can snap off five crimes or laws stemming from Alcohol legalization. You guys are also living somewhere other than Earth if you think the next bill offered up won't have some type of taxation and or regulation. And for you 215 patients, Prop 19 is not to supercede 215.. Think about this people....

It says that nowhere in the prop- it only mentions anything about 215 in a strickable section and it fails to mention it in regards to cultivation
