yes basement lighting is a reputable company.
I take it you are looking at the £74.95 lamp.
You realise this is a 250w HPS system
I payed £100 for my current 600w HPS system with Sunmaster dual spectrum lamp.
Basement have the same version for £99.95
Not a massive saving lol 5p
BUt its a pretty average price on the system. It comes with Magenetic ballast which are less prone to some of the problems you get with DIgital's.
Also magnetic ballasts will generally outlast your passion for growing where as the same cannot be said for Digital's.
Although digital's can produce more functionality for your lighting system.

it does say its a reconditioned 600watt with built in ballast etc witch in my book isnt a 250w but its a great deal

Bad move.
In my personal experience you dont want that ballast on the back end of your reflector.
always get a seperate ballast that you can mount outside of your room. Basic grow room safety bro. Plus this way you wont have to worry about the extra heat in your grow room during next summer and if its cold during the winter you can just situate your ballast in the room on the cold days to help keep temps up.
ALWAYS A SEPERATE BALLAST.
Oh yeah and buy brand new not recon'd you get full manufacturers warranty then. My century grow systems ballast (magnetic) came with a lifetime warranty (25yrs) so if it ever breaks i wont have to buy a new one. Plus at some stage im going to be trying CMH to see how it compares to HPS so i will need a magnetic ballast for this.
