probably just a name given to somebodies random cross. Could be anything nowadays. So many people crossing strains and throwing names out there right and left.

Good luck with those and hope you find some keepers man.

Did a quick search on Seedfinder and found this Cali strain called Grape Stomper. If your seeds are from the same line it looks like good genetics.

One plant hermies and seeds the whole crop, next thing you know the seeds have a different name from said plant. Then you grow them out and they don't look anything purple and ... viola.. change the name again.

You need to find a reputable seed vendor if you are going to find the characteristics, bag seed can be anything from hermdog millionaire to fat and chunky munky.

well thank you everybody very much. ill just have to pop them then n drop them and see how it goes ill try to upload pics in the future

my friend had just given me dozens of seeds, the strain is grapes.
does anybody no any info on the strain, i cant find out anything about it
the seeds are from the bay area
There are any number of strains known for "grape" flavor and/or color.

"Grape Ape" is an old CA standby that has a grape-like flavor. Maybe that's what you have. Or maybe not. Impossible to know from just a name. . .

If you really want to know the genetic pedigree of what you have, go ask your friend where/how he got the ceeds. That might not give you the answer, but its a good start, and probably the only way you'll really know.

do you know how grape ape stands up against granddaddy purple? potency wise?

I just made a big post about this on ICmag which was censored and taken over by trolls because I gave Ken's GDP a piss poor review. Anyway, I will do it again later for all of you here at RIU :)

ok.. Ken's GDP is not GDP... Go figure.. It is a cheap knockoff of a local strain called "Granddad's Purp". Ken took seeds of this and mixed it to a purple champagne kush and got his shitty version which does NOT smell sweet and taste like grapes. If it`s DHN or Mendo GDP, it is potent, sweet, and BIG!

Grape Ape, Mendo Purps, Purple Urkle (real), and GDP all taste very similar because they are all very closely related. Mendo Purps and GDP are actually sister plants similar to Brothers' Grimm; Cafe'Girl, Apollo11, and C99.

There is no strain called "Grapes" going around in the Bay Area right now, it`s probably a private creation by a closet grower (non-commercial). If it comes from the Bay and it`s called "Grapes", it is likely a knock-off from Dark Heart Nursery in Oakland, CA.

DHN specializes in a few clones but they are also a hit or miss.. 50% of the stuff from them is good. 25% is KILLER!, 25% is shit/hermis/no resin.

DHN's cut of gdp is KEN'S GDP. If you go to Harborside Oakland there's at least 3 other cloners (Santa Cruz, GR, me-Super Kuts) with exact same cut.

Sour Grapes from SR71 is still going around the Bay area in limited numbers. I heard the Sour Grapes cut was just a re-name-roomer. No Idea what your seeds are, probably not as good as what you will get from verified elite clones IMHO. Then again you might get lucky.

P.S. anyone know a club that carries MENDO PURPS or E32 train wreck?

I purchased from the old location 8 years ago in Oakland - next to the police station, (the wood bar). There WAS a cannabis club next to the Oakland police station.. hahaha.. it`s true, not sure if it`s still there.

I also got a version of Mendo Purps from there which is exact match of local Mendo Purps, even still today. The GDP and Mendo Purp was absolutely not a version Kens GDP. Ken's GDP has no taste, imo.

Here is Mendo Purps, absolute hard and sweet grape smell and taste.

Here is GDP, NOT Kens. This smells as taste sweet, like grapes. Kens is hashy and kinda earthy citrus tasting and MUCH more dense. This GDP is not as dense as Ken's cut.

btw, Sr-71 get great clones.. I snagged a Deep Chunk about 8 years ago there and it still knocks out everything i`ve found at other clubs.
