Grand Daddy Purps or Purple Kush, You Make the Call

So I picked up some GDP clones from my cloner a few months back and started growing them. I took down the first one and set it out to dry last week and took it off of the stems yesterday and put it into jars to cure.

Now the problem arises when I look at my GDP and at the other GDP we have in the shop. The other GDP has a slight floral smell to it and looks dead ringer to all the articles. This is what I am assuming that true GDP is like. I've had it come in a few times and it all was pretty similar.

My GDP looks dead ringer to the plant that I have been looking at around the net, but the smell is completely different. When the plant was finishing it smelled like Cherries and flowers, when I took it down it smelled like Cherries with a hint of fuel, and when it was finished drying it had a straight danky fuel smell with a slight hint of cherries.

I was just wondering for those of you who have grown each strain or both, if you had any knowledge or insight that might help me. I don't want to call my strain GDP if it is not GDP, and I have a sneaking suspicion it might not be. And even if it is not GDP, I still am keeping it because it is a truly magnificent plant, I just want to know if I should call it GDP, PK, or make up something, lol.

Thank you to all of those who help, and to HELL with all those who don't! Lol!

IMHO you should call it PK the cherry smell being the give away. (The PCK below stands for Purple Chitral Kusk AKA Purple Kush)
from Bean Ho's catalog:
"The PCK from Cannabiogen is a pure Indica hash plant that originates from the Hindu Kush region of Pakistan. It's a true hash plant that grows sturdy, with remarkable resistance to mould, disease, and harsh climate. It's not just a rugged beast though, it's also a real beauty, with copious resin production, a stunning array of colours with its blood red stock and buds ranging form deep purple to pink to blue-ish to green and a truly unique aroma of cherry, blackberry and coffee. It is one of the most beautiful plants i've ever seen. The other outstanding quality of this gem is it's high. It's possesses the classic hash plant, potent, relaxing effect but with a super happy, ear to ear grin and without the hard comedown of the thicker Indicas. The PCK I used comes to me via Spain from Cannabiogen seed stock, where it's a well known classic. I've done selections over 3 generations, selecting for effect, taste and structure but used several males and female in order not to bottle-neck this beauty. When used in hybrids, it consistently adds robustness, resin production, a unique cherry flavourings and aroma, a stunning array of colours and that super feel good happy effect, while still allowing the moms ripping potency to shine. It also significantly shortens flowering time and makes even the trickiest of my moms a breeze to grow"

Thats really interesting to know man. I had never heard of this version of PK. Many things there sound just like my plant. Robust, easy to deal with, resistant to moud, though the bugs like it a bit. It is a beautiful plant. I haven't had the red stalks, but I have the nice deep purple to lavender buds. The frost and smell of it are what get me though, it is amazing. The yield was pretty nice also. I had problems with the plant early, but realized what a heavy feeder it is and double dosed it and it took right off and it finished great. I ended up yeilding just under 3 oz with the first plant that had problems and it looks like i'm going to get a lot more from my other plants that didn't have problems.
