Negative here.... the whole fam thinks he's still untainted
Yeah, he's too dedicated. Won't be distracted, or as I put it when i was in HS, "i gotta stay in shape", as I turned down a bottle of beer.
And i was no where near his level. When you're second best you try harder. LOL

Evan was "perhaps the most valuable player to ever don a Jaguar uniform"
Dude, do you realize...GOAT status? LOL, that's so freakin' cool. And then, yanno, he's related to ya.
See, in another thread, topic was greed is greatest evil, but i said pride was, it causes greed. But in this case
pride is good. Nobody in that thread seemed to get it. So, yeah, be proud man, and follow the boy. I would.

Yeah man, he's so introverted... Im surprised he makes it through the post game interviews, but he's getting better at it. I've known this kid since he was 7. I promise you that he goes to bed thinking of a play that could have gone better, or his head wasn't right that night. I've never seen a kid that dedicated to something. He's always either in physical training, practicing free throws, physical therapy, or analyzing the next team he's going up against. I was more focused on pussy or drugs at that age, but hey.. we're all different. But, I am really proud of this kid.

UGH.. tough night tonight. Jags vs. Choctaw. Evan scored 23 points. It was neck and neck, swapping leads throughout the game. The last 2.5 seconds we have possession at 47-46 (Choctaw).. we inbound in, and lost control of the ball before the clock ran out. This was Evans last game in the finals. I didn't expect to see him in the state he was. He came out of the locker room, followed by his team mates in tears. All of them trying to hold back the tears, but Evan, as the team leader was just bawling uncontrollably. I hugged him up and told him "great season, Im proud of you".. You don't know the hard work he's put in since he could hold a basketball. He trains early mornings, goes to school, trains, plays, trains, plays... I know he can't see his UCO career tonight... but he'll be ok.

Too bad, but they've lost games before and he got over it. He'll play for the Bronchos.
How big is he? Point guard size, i would imagine. Set realistic goals, and objectives.
Achieve each objective on the way to the goal. Losing's part of the deal. I've heard
NFL guys on tv say they hate losing worse than they love winning. Balance and perspective, yanno.

He's a 6'3 point guard .... I feel like l need to drive up in the next few days and consult him. Im sure he's going to bed tonight feeling broken. I'm a bit worried about where his mind is going to go between now, and the Fall start at UCO. I think he needs an outside source besides mom and dad to give him some reassurance that he's going to be ok. True, a lose sucks, especially when you are 3 games away from the Championship. Im sure he's thinking about what went wrong in the last 2.5 seconds, and it's prob gonna keep him up tonight. Im gonna try to advise him that this was a great run, and he needs to focus on the future. One of the players Gavin, he's been on the same team with him since they were both like 8 years old. I love this kid more than my own (sorry, but his life turned out a bit unfortunate)..... so I tend to cling onto Evan. He's gonna be ok tho.

I'd drive there, myself. Tell him if he thinks that's bad to just wait until he gets to the next level.
It's called poise, tell him. Not too high, not too low, just play the game and let it go. Wtf, over?
Oh yeah, and remind him, "it's a game."

Yeah.. he's that good. If every player on his team was as good as he is.... it would be game over, and they would have won the Championship. But!, he's got great things ahead of him.

He's wound that tight, s'part of what makes him so damn good at it.
Tell him that. Tell him to be that good, and to chill on his emotional
reaction, esp. to losses, but wins too. Win and then u get cocky if you
let it handle you instead of you handling it, and that set u up for losing.

OMG.. on a drive to the hoop tonight, he was being heavily guarded and he made that ball do some magical shit.. between the legs, around the back, drive, around the back, step back, between the legs... it was amazing. Everybody was on thier feet cheering for him!

oh i have, a friend wanted to join the marines ever since he was a kid, and he spent his whole life up untill his entry into them, just dreaming, exercizeing, and getting martial arts training, hand to hand unarmed combat. you name it, and now hes been through basic training and special training, he was the best of the best of the best, day after day, week after week, month after month. thats all i can legaly tell you about him.
but thats the same sort of dedication to the game that my friend had towards the marines
