So they took your scale huh? I bet that'll be a huge sticking point for the prosecution when this thing goes to court. Personally, i have my scales and seeds stashed somewhere other then my house for this very reason.

You guys who say "dont be an informant" arent using your heads. Personally, i have a mental list of about 4 or 5 thugs or d-bags that i cant fucking stand who i know deal or smoke. Its not like i would give up my friends or folks i know who are decent. Just the dumb fucks who are gonna end up in jail one day anyway. I would try and get something in writting saying my charges would be dropped if i give up some people. Build it up like im about to hand over a kingpin or something.

Also, if youre grow in an apartment, then you have to grow in a bedroom and put a huge lock on that door- duh.

The problem is that the D-bags may have the wrong friends... the type that make things disappear or lay serious a$$ whoopings on those with big mouths...

Hope you can figure out how to skate thru this, but working for the cops is a very very tricky process, no matter what your intention

Plea deals are technically not legal. You can get a deal in writing and the judge doesn't have to honor it. The judge and prosecution can all of a sudden decide they don't want to give you the deal after you've already snitched. Roman Polanski is a prime example of this. He entered into a plea deal, did his time and afterwards the judge decided that wasn't enough time and wanted to put him back in prison. That's why he fled to Europe.

I should have said that being an informant should be your last resort, but if im looking at 5yrs and im told that i can walk if i give up some folks? Come on. I hear what youre saying though. I mean if this scenario went down then it would probably be time for me to pack my toothbrush's.

I was talking about once you let them into your home...if they see anything...smell anything...hear anything they can search....without his permission...he had already given it.

And they now have the ability to wander around the house. Some States may allow them to even "secure the area" once their in the home...under certain circumstances...

Point is don't answer the door to cops. Even if they are tapping on the window NEXT to the door LOOKING straight at you while loudly asking for you to let them in to talk..etc, etc...

Someone here made me laugh a while ago when they said that the police would have to kick the fucking door down before he would ever talk to let alone open the door to a cop.

I never felt safe enough to start a single seed in an apt. I'm nervous enough with my own house with the possible smell issues, etc. Those flowering beauties can give off one hell of a perfume! I've not hooked up an effective carbon filter system, just a ceiling fan. The laws vary widely from state to state. Colorado is one of the 14? states that now have medical MJ laws- but they are still hell on growers w/o a med card- any grow close to a school gets additional penalties- no matter that I have never sold to anyone- let alone children. Lawyer up and good luck. Going it alone in a case like this would be a bad idea IMO. Good luck and Good Karma.

that's true, but it's people like that, that intimidate people and threaten them if them snitch deserves to get locked up. As cultivators, we should not be promoting violence, so if you're an informant.....carry a gun with you at all times and when you shoot the bad guy...just tell them that it was his gun if there's no witnesses.

That sucks about the abt, how were were plants hidden, were they in a closet, or did you just have them out in the open in a tent.

Well after talking to 6-7 lawyers (3 literally laughed at me on the phone, they couldn't believe the cops even bothered with me) and researching how Texas weighs their plants, it'll be non-felony. Should walk away with minimal penalty due to my legit career and squeaky clean criminal record so there's no real need to rat anyone anyways. To quote one lawyer "Wow, a maintenance-guy at an apartment complex who doesn't smoke weed? What a fucker."

Thank god they weren't flowering is all I have to say.

None of the lawyers said the scale was not an issue either if its clean. All of them said charges will be dropped/reduced by ratting 3 people out, although some said its morally wrong (lawyers have morals?)

Another thing, when they were questioning me they were very direct about asking about hash oil, hashish, etc -- I guess cause its hard to find or carries a stricter penalty?

They were also very direct about having any guns around. I sold my .45 a few years ago but they were sure to take snapshots of my ammo & gun case I still had.

Overall a shitty situation that I want to resolve immediately but the lawyers said it'll take 1.5-6 months for them to produce a warrant for arrest. A few had clients in the past where charges were never filed and it just 'went away'. One lawyer told me about a guy getting caught last year growing over 100 plants and nothing ever happened after seizure. I swear I'll start going to church if I'm this lucky

The worst thing about it is the waiting. Its like "Just issue the warrant, I'll do my class/community service/fine, and I can get on with my life."



I wonder if the maintenance guy got a reward for ratting me out. Any way to find out? I kind of want to go to trial just to see his ass get questioned.

Closet. Allegedly he came in to change the air conditioner filter but if he came right in the door and did his job and left, there was no way he could have seen anything without snooping.

Texas doesn't have a law requiring prior notice for entry by your landlord/maintenance unless its outlined in your lease (which it isn't of course) so I'm unsure of any legal action I could take against them.

they also like to make you wait, and watch you while you wait, hoping that in the meanwhile you will get rid of any additional plants or equipment or even worse run to your guru so they can nail your ass to the wall. id be very carefull...

You should check your tenant act to see if the super has any right to investigate the rest of the apartment if he's there for a non-emergency task.
You might have legal recourse even if you were breaking the law yourself.

Sucks you got busted man, hopefully you can eventually get it expunged from your record and live to grow another day.

But you really need to take a look at yourself when you thinking about being a snitch. Sure, they might be douche bags, but they have been smart enough to not get busted unlike you. If you really think being a rat is the way to go, I hope they still don't reduce your sentence, and then the guy you snitched on has his friends "make things right".

It sucks you got busted but be real and admit it was your fault, don't let the revenge be on you for snitching, if you put anyone in harms way it should be the one who tipped off the police.

Are you going to move out of the apartment anytime soon, I would move out just because I could not trust the maintenance guy not to go through my stuff.
