got some bugs need help!

I think I have Aphids but not sure!! They are in the soil and flying around my grow room there black in color! I was reading can I use Diatomaceous Earth to kill these whats the best killer for them! I have SM-90 I have Neem Oil I can get this Diatomaceous Earth if needed just need to kill them Im about 2 weeks in to flowering! They do like the soil Thats where I think there most at! Thanks

Sounds like fungus gnats. I'd put yellow sticky traps around your soil to get the adults, and add mosquito dunks to your water to attack the larvae. The gnats themselves won't hurt your plants, but the little larvae/maggots will eat smaller/newer roots. They really aren't that harmful, so you don't need to be too worried. Still, might as well try to knock them down as much as you can.

Search here for info on fungus gnats and you'll find a bunch of different approaches to dealing with them: layer of sand over your soil, nematodes, different sprays etc.. Personally I've had the best luck with simple sticky traps. Lots of them, like at least a couple under each plant.

sounds like gnat fungus flys, another way to kill them is to get a bowl of water, add lemon juice and detergent(as one member suggested to me)

yeah i had that problem as well with my hydroponics... the gnats laid larve in my roots and i never noticed them cause theyre so damn small.. ill upload a picture of the larvae that was in my roots under 100x microscope... I used Axamax and GoGnats... also sprayed with both those and got Dr.Doom... ( be careful with this cause it can burn ur plants if sprayed too close or too much!!!!!! )
now i have white fly traps and they work! i also have a praying mantis in my room! its sick! haha anyways.. best of luck! heres the pic!

and now im battling these!! any ideas on what it is? its in my hydroton and ive lost lots of time and money!! either a root aphid maybe or ive heard bulb mite (which is a pest and a predator) i think when i got em they ate the larva and im still battling these now.. lol been doing go gnats dips and organocide dips... ugh

If its fungus gnats just reduce watering. They'll go away.

Matt, the lower photo, have you found out what they are? I have had tiny flies that look like fruit flies flying around the room. Not many of them, but at least a few of them. I have had them in my rooms for at least 3 months. I transplanted some clones today and an hour later I noticed hundreds (at least) of the tiny little bugs crawling on top of my soil & they look just like the bug in your photo....I started spraying the soil with Gognats. I don't see any on my plants just on the top of the soil....

^^^ I have no doubt that they're fungus gnats. Matt's pics look like fungus gnat larvae.

Hate to say this but pics 1 and 2 are definitely NOT fungus gnat larvae. Fungus gnat larvae are small see through worm looking things with black heads.
What you have look like thrips larvae.

The 3rd pic looks like a spidermite kind of, its a bit hard to tell.

Thrips are notoriously difficult to deal with, my weapon of choice for all pests is SPINOSAD.

^^ That third one does sort of look like a mite. And, you may be right about the larva being thrips. I'd still bet that the flying things are fungus gnats though. Sounds like a situation that I would not want to be in. Mites, thrips, and fungus gnats! Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. Sorry about that. Good luck.
