Got guns?

worked up a sweat at the range today
I can't shoot revolvers consistently, need 500 rounds to draw and get on target. Had to put 2 sheets of plywood behind the target to see how high or low I was hitting. Even missed that a few times, I was bad. Got rid of that, that was a menace to society.
That LC9s can pop em in a 6" ring at 30ft. I love that little 9mm. Just the nicest trigger pull and reset, shoots any 9mm ammo, 17oz empty

Ithaca 37 12ga, older one with the slamfire triggers, made famous in WW1 trenches and LA riots, check the Battlefield1 video, they got it down perfect even reload. They are classified as "semi-auto" pumps.

. The other one is a Springfield Armory M6 (.410/ .22mag) with the worst trigger ever devised since the 1500's, it's like shooting a flintlock, but accurate. Gives the squirrels and grouse an even chance.

Last one is a Winchester Model 70 (.375 H&H mag) It feels like both barrels of 12ga 3"mag when she fires.
Really a hard hitting round, nice trajectory with 270 grain for longer shots, 300 grain for 150 yd or less.

Saw this article and thought fondly of the sweet nickle 29 I had that was stolen decades ago. As the author stated, it wasn't a pleasure to shoot, at least for me.

Dirty Harry’s Hogleg — S&W Model 29 .44 Magnum

"If ever there was a firearm that should receive title billing in a movie, it was the Smith and Wesson Model 29 .44 Magnum used in Dirty Harry. The synergistic combination of Eastwood’s inimitable presence and the Model 29’s unparalleled power created an enduring cinematic icon. At a time when the Age of Aquarius threatened to castrate American virility, Dirty Harry gently reminded the world that we Americans were still the baddest boys on the block."

Mr Keith was quite a unique character. If you've a mind to, his books are good reading. Some of my favorites:

Yea, I ran that cannon before, my friend hunts with one. Can't hit a barn with that either. That thing is louder than most rifles, great fun to shoot though. Expensive lead.

Got drafted into the militia for years, no choice, relative with a bad knee and a passion.
Militia cannons I used to fire. Mortar was the most fun. 1/4 lb black powder wakes the crew for coffee at sunup.
Nothing like a blast concussion to get you outta bed in the morning.

Forts, tactical battles and especially tall ship/ longboat /canoe invasions were fun, hated the dress up for documentaries, parades and standing at attention and playing tourist guide. But that pays the bills for a thousand pounds of black powder to feed these beasts.

Frankly speaking, I don't have any gun right now. But since I moved from parents I decided to get some for self protection. But you know, besides a gun you need a safe, license, and so on. In short, you need a lot of money. I consider an option to get Loans For Bad Credit history. Hope I'll get a rifle soon.
Self protection, or protection at home?
12 or 20 ga shotgun be the first I would get for home.If you have limited or no experience, not a rifle indoors unless you are on a big spread. Ruger 10/22 carbines are excellent cheap, hi quality used beginner rifles, does the trick for varmints, lays down lead and holes in your dwelling will be minimal.
Gun security cabinets like this $150 may work for you for long guns. Simple double barrel12ga are cheap, ammo is cheap.
Skeet shooting is great training, too.

Check out your local pawn shops too. I hardly ever buy guns new. If kept up, they can last several lifetimes.

I'm a gun collector and have way more than I need. But I don't have them for self defense. If you haven't been using guns for a long time, a good baseball bat is much better for in home protection. {not to mention it's very rare for bats to be used in suicides, which account for 64% of all gun deaths}

^^what he said^^, if you don't shoot regularly, you get too twitchy with adrenaline.
These are designed for close quarters, hide behind a door and stick it thru that the little crack. Best $25 piece of steel on the planet. That's what I got my son , cold steel gladius. I got short harpoon and 2ft bayonet not as effective, but I'd pick up either around the home, in spite of having 9mm handy

Oh, see you got a UK link. Rules out the 10/22, most likely too hi capacity.
.22 or .177 hornady would be ok for target. .22 mag also, but aged caliber makes lead expensive.
7mm Mauser probably best rifle caliber for your area for price/ availabilty.
You got lots of hoops to complete before getting rifle or shotgun.
The club fees, background, evaluations, training, targets, pub meetings add up quick.

Talking about guns is like talking about cannabis, gotta be careful who you ask (dont know why people are like that).
Grandads lever action 10 gauge made 1900. M&P shield single stack 45, fun as hell to fire. The funniest part of buying that gun was the price, $420, I kid you not.

I came across this just now, never heard of one or could find one that was auctioned. Love those Soviets and their weaponry. This was their survival gun TP-82 Cosmonaut survival pistol

"This three-barreled "pistol" was equipped with two 32 gauge shotgun barrels above a single 5.45x39mm rifle barrel. What made this survival gun even more interesting is that it came with a detachable shoulder stock that was actually a machete in its own canvas sheath"
