Got confused from reading to many posts...

Not a first time grower, but first time indoor controlled growing.

Got the concept of well almost everything that I need to know to make me some good buds but here's were I am getting more and more confused by every post I read...

So basically (I'll post pics in separate post) I have some plants that well, was under developed, you could say, because I failed to provide the proper lighting for the first let's say 3-6 weeks. This is because I'm USA outdoor growing were you only troubleshoot and add nuts..

Anyway here is what I'm getting at, the change between vegging and flowering.
i have had my plants on a 24/7 light cycle from day one of the seeds developing their first true leaves, prior to that they were window babies. I had them under fluorescents for let's say 3 or 4 weeks and then started making drastic changes, eventually getting them better lights and I continue to improve as I go.

I need to know if I should keep light o 24/7 to induce longer vegging state till the plants are we're they should. E at this time. And the plant isn't auto flowering so it won't flower till I induce it, correct? And the only way to induce flowering will be a 12/12 light cycle or 14/10 as some people do for stimulate of longer summer days.

Also, how long can I veg the plants, will it be harmful if I take how ever long I won't before flowering?

Thanks for all feedback it's greatly needed.

You can really veg a plant for ever (assuming you keep it healthy) You can flower when ever you want to switch. I would say at about 12inches is good but it all up to you

They areee about 9" now but I feel they need more vegg time for better leaf development

you can leave them in veg mode for years...that's what a "mother clone" is

correct, switch to 12/12 to induce flower mode.....keep it simple

question: why have you chosen 24/0 for vegging instead of 20/4 or 18/6?

you for sure need to veg longer do some lst or some form of training I flower at 18"...how much height you got to work with? and are you running hid setup?

keep vegging until they are how you want them. it will not flower until you put it on 12/12 i never heard of 14/10 you can veg a plant forever but its gonna continue to grow, and it will double if not triple its size if the pot its in is big enough during flowering..

I was assured by the grower who gave me the seeds that the kush was indeed no an auto flowering strain, he told me with my inexperience for indoor growing I'd kill the plant before I learned how to work with it, he wasn't up for tips said I needs to learn alone. And the fact that the plants have been in veg this long tells me he was right. I decided with 24 hour yield because I don't have a timer switch and getting a schedule down is near impossible with the hours I work I'd be to afraid to mess up the cycle.
Im also working with a grow room that is 6x4x8 so I have plenty of room. Ofor who ever asked about spacess.
couldnt afford a hid light using cfls 40 watt 2200k and a grow bulb 100 watt 3500k 3 inches above the plants. Switching out cfls for 4 more 100 watt 3500k grow bulbs and they have the blue spectrum shields for proper light spectrum

buckets are 1 gal, prob switching to a 3 gal for top bucket size, wanna keep thmem sorta small roots are not bulbing yet so not transplant for maybe 2 more weeks

i suggest at least a 250w hps for flowering. cfls dont go in deep, so if your plant is big, the buds in side arent gonna get fat only the one on top and it prolly wont even get that big.. cfls are good for veg but i suggest hid for flowering.

I would suggest you invest in a timer and go to a 18/6 or 20/4 schedule. The rest will surely benefit your plants and promote root growth.

oh gotcha it must just be afghan kush then. funny he said you would have a hard time with autos. in my experience autos are the easiest plants to grow just not as hot of fire as photoperiod

Well I've Leah's grown outdoors never indoors and he said it would be easier to promote growth when I can control flowering period

I'm not afraid to surround the plants in several grow bulbs aka some over head some on the sides
You space (6x4x8) is very big. You will need at least 50 Cfls no lie to get sufficient lighting because the space is so big and Cfls do so little in such a big spot especially if its not reflective. Just giving advice not trying to be a ass

I think you should consider starting with a much smaller grow area and much fewer plants.
To set that room up properly will require money you don't have (according to the post).
Section the room off and go with 2-3 plants. You are biting off more than you can chew at this point.

Not true at all. C3 plants only process CO2 when the light is on and will process 24/0. The root growth thing is an old wives tail and unless you're growing autos leaving the light on all the time can be beneficial.

Exactly what I though. I am glad I have support
