hey i gotta couple problems, any help or just general knowledge so i know how to avoid these problems in the future, will be greatly appreciated. and ++rep to anybody who helps me out.

PROBLEM 1:
i have a plant, i believe sativa dom, that is in day 57 of flowering. she started off to be just a foot tall grow, but ended up at 20". i usually keep her outside so she was going with the fall pattern nicely, but i had a lot of work done on my house throughout the past couple weeks, therefor, no outdoor light for her, and no indoor light. she was doing fine tho, not really much growth, but no problems.
i just got a 600wat dual spec hps for some seeds a friend got me from a dispensary in socal. i asked around and i was told that if i put the flowering plants into the closet with the 600 that it would be good. i just started noticing the cola is very dry, a piece snapped off and the stem on the inside is pretty fucked up. it spent less than 10 hours over the past two days under the light, the rest in mediocre sunlight or total darkness. PIC 1 is the snapped cola.
whats the deal with this and why did it happen? is the new growth going to be ok? anything i can do is basically what i'm asking.

PROBLEM 2:
one of my two plants that i started to grow of the cali seeds (Early Biddy) has seemed to become mutated. the leaves are growing in halves, with no actual tips. its not a bug issue, because they are not damaged, they are just grown like that lol. will it continue to grow like that or will it eventually change back? once again, any ideas how this happend, would love to know. obviously PIC 2 is the messed up growth.

more than fixing my problem i'm just kinda tryin to learn more about preventing any problem from occuring more than once. thanks to anyone who read this whole fucking thing +rep tho if u made it through and still stayed to share ur advice :weed::leaf::joint:

mutants arent always bad, some people actully say they are more potent. 600 is alot for a closet. how big is your closet? do you have exhaust. if its small and no exhaust you would be better off with a 150 or a 250 watter. that 600 will cook your crop, thats why its crispy. if i were you i would not use the 600 in the closet. good luck

Yea a 600 will cook your plants if its not vented if you plan on growing in this closet in future you will need to cut a vent hole to let heat go in attic and exhast fan alot of people have problems with the high watt lights good luck i have no ideal about plant happy growing

i would say it snapped off cuz it was bent too far....or maybe the lack of light weakened the stem....or it got dried out
idk y it grew like that but it should grow out of it

Yea, I'm with the others about that 600w being too much without the proper ventilation and exhaust. I wouldn't really think it would cause a cola to snap in two but who knows? I've never seen a plant look like your 2nd pic, that is wild. Who cares if it switches back or not as long as it flowers ok.

Thanks to all, I will +rep when I get to a computer (on phone) I just switched to my 150watt hps, much less light :-( but much less heat as well, it's pretty far from my plants (26-30 inches). Looks like it should b lower.. No? Oh by the way my closet is 8 sq.ft 2'dx4'wx8'h.. Do I put the light closer?

That 600watt turned your closet into a oven! The 150 will work but you should get a air cooled reflector and use the 600 to get bigger bud sites!
Good luck.:peace:
