Just curious how many people are getting the chocolate taste or smell in thier gorilla glue #4? I've had some that had a cocoa taste and smell but also very fuel and Chem like. But tasted great. I've also had some that had no cocoa or chocolate smell or taste.

How bout yall?

Has anyone grown it and had it come out both ways? If so, what did you do differently in the grow.

harvested at 70 days brings out the Chocolate, earlier and shes more fuely chem. The S1s of her have been more fruit like sour patch skunk candy. Getting ready to do a head to head GG#4 vs Corey Stardawg.

This has been the impression that I've been getting as well. I've harvested mine around 8 weeks and mine has been fuel and chemical all the way. a friend and I were just talking about how harvesting the glue later on, as in past 70 days, will bring out that chocolate smell. My next run of the glue I want to take it past 70 days and see what kind of smells and colors that I can get to come out of it.

I have a glue s 1 that smells like peaches and cream

Awesome info, I had a feeling it may have to do with harvest time. I'll definitely be taking it to 70 days now. I wanted to let it go an extra week to get a little bit more body stone out of it so that will work out perfectly. I see it can also get a little purple :)

That peaches and cream s1 sounds freakin delicious! I've never smelled a plant with those scents, Def sounds like a keeper

GG4 regardless of when it's taken doesnt smell or taste earthy, spicy, or like chocolate... More chemmy, skunky, fuely imo....

I've grown chocolate trip (Katsu cut and Bodhi's f2's) which actually is earthy/floral/spicy and tastes of coco chocolate...

I tend to think people infer chocolate from the lineage more than actual flavor, but that's just my opinion.

Hmm, I'm not sure. One bag I had was definitely cocoa like smell/exhale after I cured it a bit, it was really Chem fuel smell when I was trimming it though, I couldn't smell anything except dank fuel until after the trim and drying.. and the other was super fuel like diesel. I was definitely getting a hot chocolate mix smell /taste the first batch and so did the gf and that's before I knew anything about the lineage and such

I'd kill for some chocolate thai! By no means am I getting that much of an intense chocolate flavor on the glue, but it was there which took the Chem taste away and made it more enjoyable. I've never liked the Chem rubber taste very much, some people say that the glue tastes like rubber and I know what they are talking about since I grew a diesel a long time ago that had an over powering rubber car tire taste and smell (gag) , but I'm not getting any of that, I did however get a strong diesel Chem tasting sample, but not rubbery, if that makes sense, it wwas more of a NY diesel (more sour gasoline) kind of taste and smell. I know it's all subjective to the individual, but I was happy as hell when the first glue sample I had smelled a bit chocolaty because I love coffee smelling tasting strains. I haven't had anything in a long time with that aroma and taste so I was pumped lol

@TheMan13 and I were just discussing this the other day. He feels that the chocolate smell is brought out after 70days. I'm gonna test this asap.
holy crap, I have the gorilla glue 4 and it's really a nice plant, but mine was done in less than two months?
And I like my herb ripe too!
Hmmm, wondering how many of these are out there...
No diesel, no chocolate, and it was VERY done in 50 days...
yea 50.
Absolutely 100% without a doubt know that the plant was indeed finished...
Weird.
Got it from dark heart nursery. Bay area..

Hmm , that is wicked strange. The glue has a recommended harvest time of 64 days I believe, that mmay still be early. Mine came from elemental wellness I think. Maybe you got s1?

No worries, under CMH mine was done around 50 days.

The glue has a huge window of when it can be harvested.

Mine was ready early, but I'd like to see if it'll swell more if left longer.

@Hammerhead571 you won the cup with gg4 and are extremely familiar with the strain, right? , maybe you could spread some knowledge? I'm about 23 days into flower with my glue and planned to take them to 70 days. You probably hear alot about the smell and taste too, what's the census on your end?

Holy crap, if I could harvest at 50 days I'd be a damn happy camper! But I use hps and not familiar with cmh, does cmh cut harvest time?

hmm, like I said, I like mine ripe, I could pulled at 40 days if I wanted to..
HUGE glands on this strain, the bag appeal for the gg4 is insane. Funny though, it looks stronger than it smokes...
Tastes great, finishes fast, dense nugs, looks great.
Buuut it's not even in my top ten for potency..
but i'm keeping it.
oh and if it matters I am no-till, under two 600w hps right now, I am not running a cmh at the moment.

shit, 23 days in and my gg4 looked like it was 40 days in.
Fastest strain I have.
Plus I imagine if I have a older plant it'll flower even quicker, I flowered my gg4 at about 12 inches.

Yeah, I agree there with the potency, it's strange because theglue can hbe up to 33% thc, but I've had many stronger strains as well. First time I smoked the glue I was pretty floored but after popping the cherry it was a nice day smoke. Maybe we just have to dial it in more and let it go longer?
