Good find for inline exhaust fan I think...

Powerful little buggers, but probably 12 volt DC. You could get an adapter, but that fan will probably need a fairly large capacity unit. As you said, with a little electrical knowledge...

Another option is inline duct fan from Home Depot. You can get adapters to put a 6" or even 8" fan on a 4" duct too. Comments welcome.

Look good for venting a small hood or small room +rep

I like that they have very little gap between the sidewall and fan due to the ridged ABS Plastic. Looks like it would give more efficient air movement than a booster fan with its 1" gap around the blades.

Interesting find. Did you order one? I want more info :)

O and I would highly recommend AGAINST the inline duct fan from home depot or lowes. They are ok, but lose their ability to move air with any kind of back pressure.

Have not ordered one yet but I am considering I am also looking at an A.O 140 CFM Blower for $20....those can be converted to work in the house like I said I know I can make them work...depends and your skills..I am considering these for their sound level will be possibly using it in my exhaust setup will let you guys know if I go with these versus the other...

What backpressure? Nonetheless, to each his own.
A caveat concerning the duct fans from Home Depot is they can't be used above 140F because of it's plastic fan. Install it before the light if you use it for that. Probably good advice for any fan.

Personally the Fan won't be in the grow area but on the other side of a wall so I don't think plastic would be an issue...

I was thinking about getting one of these to vent out the top of a closet into the attic. I have a crawl space opening in the closet so that I can just cut a hole in the opening and mount with screws. It has an extension cord and everything. 200 CFM.

Search Results for room to room fan

yea the duct boosters cant push air like a true inline fan...

those lil ones bondogey showed are great for bringing fresh air in. 225cfm in a 4in.. thats good money right there.

I dont believe those boat blowers are made for constant use. Only 5 minutes before starting and thats it. They are powerful though, they clear a 4x4x4 engine compartment in less than a minute. You can feel the pressure pretty well coming out of your vents (On a boat)

mane2008 showed some interesting units. I want one of those 750 CFM buggers. That's enough to feed a 427. :) I like to see people think "outside the box" on this stuff. You just don't need the $100 units. I have a Home Depot 6" inline duct fan feeding my admittedly large charcoal filter, and there's a pretty darned good airflow going into it. It'd put a match out in a heartbeat. Heck, put two of them inline with each other, and at $50 they couldn't be beat.
Just ideas...glad to see more.

Just thought I would throw my exhaust set on here.
One 10" Heat activated
Dual 6" Always on for Lights and Circulation

^Here is where the T combines the two Hoods and exits the roof.

^This is the top of the enclosure where the exhaust fans are housed. The fans are industrial grade axle fans made for exhausting large power cabinets. The two in the back are side by side into the 6” x 10” square to 6” Duct.

So the inline duct fans aren't all a bad thing it sounds like I am going to have to make a trip over to home depot see whats up. Just got my water pump my medium and my mister heads yesterday hopefully going to find some bins I like and fit my specs....

I've got to mention that I only have one plant, my first grow, and don't have plans to grow any for sale, just for my own needs. If mine was a money-making project I'd make different choices. I'm planning on 3-4 plants vegging and 3-4 in flower, not a roomful. Obviously the scale of your operation will dictate what equipment you need.
Mane2008 thanks for the links, as I'm in buying mode and always looking for a good deal.
