Good Deal, for a Small Grow?

I'm doing a closet grow. My space is 3.5'x2'x5' I'm wondering if this grow light will suffice and if I can grow around 5 plants in that much space. I got some seeds off a site call HighGrade seeds and I was planning to do outdoor, but I decided to try and indoor grow. I will place white poly sheets around my closet and seal off all light. Any other information will be appreciated. Let me know if this light will do or if I should go for something better. Trying to keep the on a budget.

Here is grow light + ballast + hangers + 2 bulbs + timer:

If you could also tell me the difference between a metal halide and a cool one with the glass cover. Anybody have any experience with High Grade seeds?

Any help? I'm about to buy this light set right now..........This will be my first indoor grow, but I have done outdoor many times. I guess I'll go with this, seems like a good deal for two bulbs and everything I need =)

Looks like a real nice set for the price. And what do you mean 'the difference between a metal halide and a cool one with the glass cover'? A metal halide lamp typically disperses a white/blue spectrum which is great for veg. An HPS lamp disperses more of the red spectrum which is ideal for flowering. You'll here arguments over which is better for flowering, but generally, and in my experience HPS is the way to go for flower. And both MH and HPS combined is even better i hear!

Oh, and for a growspace the size you have, make sure you have sufficient airflow or a cooltube or you WILL have heat issues.

i just made the purchase. I hope a metal halide is okay. If I have dual 6' fans blowing air out of the grow closet and I have one fan blowing fresh air in, will the temp be okay? I think I will also be getting a carbon filter and a temp. meter

Seeing that your grow space is 35 cubic feet, you'll need a fan that is at the very least 35cfm. You need to exchange the air 1-5 times per minute so I would recommend 105-175cfm. The higher rate of air exchange will exponentially lower your temps. My space is 56cf and my true cfm with my carbon filter is 156, so it's exchanged about 3 times per minute. With a 400W HPS lamp, one oscillating fan blowing around and a passive intake my temps are 79-80 with the light on.
Hope this helps :peace:

even if its medium socket you still need a ballast to run the HID bulbs.

I have two sets of the duracraft twin fans. basically I have 4 fans. They can be switched to fresh air or exhaust. I need some help finding some good material to cover up my closet to keep the light sealed and make the closet dead silent
