I have a couple jars of some Golden Teacher mycelium growing right now that I wanted to share.

I was originally going to do a write up but some things came up and I decided to just share some pics of the grow and give a place for people to chat.

For anyone interested here's some info on mushrooms;

Learn how to grow here~~> http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek

I am looking forward to trying my hand at choempi’s bulk mono tek soon. Having a little trouble getting leached dry hpoo around here as the ground hasn’t had a chance to dry out. Any suggestions for a substitute?

Man do popcorn spawned to h poo and coir! Can yield good
I'm stuck with the BRF for now. I had to rush getting these 2 jars completed but will hopefully be ordering some new spores.

I have to pick up some stuff to move to bulk but should hopefully be able to do it this grow.

I just recently started growing shrooms so I'm not much of a help in that area but maybe one of the more experienced growers can make a suggestion.

I will sell u 2 perfectly new gt syringes from ralphsters for cheap?
I would if not for me buying different kinds of gourmet mushroom spores in my next order.

Not to mention I'm still leery of exchanging personal info, please don't take it personally.

If you got the money and want POO google "heady poo" you really pay for it though not as cheap as just ordering some hpoo off ebay. but its not regular hpoo either.

Cool, me too!

Still thinking of different ideas for a small fruiting chamber if anyone has suggestions.

I haven't purchased anything yet so I'm pretty open to ideas. Pictures are always appreciated.

take any horsepooh you can get and leach it yourself, I have baby baths of the shit outside, use it in the garden, or pasturise for shrooms..... A nice clear 10 gallon tub with a good lid will work well. Make it full of holes and bob's your uncle.

Thanks Darth. Ill look into it. Fortunately I am still in the gathering phase in preparation for taking that next step into the mono world. Craigslist is a great source for finding poo of all sorts.

420, I have found a good substitute in worm castings. For a newbie, I would suggest your mixing the worm castings with 20 percent vermiculite and 20 percent coarse coco coir. Bring that to field moisture content and then put it in your oven for about an hour at 175 degrees. Let it cool and you can drop spawn in there at about 25 percent or so. This stuff doesn't bind together very well and the less coir the less it binds so be sure you have a decent container for it.

It also will tend to border break - that is, you will have a tough time pinning on the top surface only unless you take precautions. Incubate in the dark, don't case until you have 100 percent coverage by the mycelium. If you do that however, I assure you you will get fine, large mushrooms and a decent yield. When you get the hang of it, you can use even less verm and no coir just because it is simpler and you have a more nutrient rich substrate.

One more thing. I find that people get way anal about their "chamber". What I have found that works for small operations is this. Find a tub or bin and find another - or better yet, a group of smaller bins or trays to put inside. I like to put a small flurescent on the top of the containing tub. Put your substrate in the smaller tubs or trays and put them in the big one. So long as you don't have too many demands on the system, you can use a container, like a quart or larger. Put your standard ultrasonic mist or fog maker in that container and pump air through the system with a aquarium pump and into your tub from there. You should get a decent exchange rate if you get a two outlet pump - about 10 bucks at Walmart. The rig is about 30 dollars total and you don't need pearlite or heating systems or fanning or anything like thatDSCF0891.jpgDSCF0970.jpg These trays simply go into larger bins. (I've posted these pics before - there isn't much left to take pictures of anymore). Good luck on your grow - it is always very rewarding to get these guys to grow well.

Awesome info!! Thanks so much! Think of these shrooms as my trial run for doing gourmet mushrooms. I'm doing a lot of gardening and really getting back to nature lately in my life so all this information is helping out greatly.

I'm should be ordering some button mushrooms and maybe some others in the near future and it's those kind that I'm really trying to learn how to spawn to bulk, should be the same concept.
