Golden ratio of genes

so i think i got it down to a simple rule.. the rule of mother nature is 9 children.

basically i know this is true for animals. the ratio is 9:3:3:1. basically you get 3 like mom 3 like dad and 3 that are a odd mix of the other 6. one of em hopefully is good enough of a mix of both parents .. its why they sell packs of 10 usually.

If you get four different phenotypes from 10 seeds WTF is the point of paying a breeder $100 a pack?
