Golden Goat Closet Grow

I cleaned my tent and have done quite a bit of defoliating, just to increase airflow through the canopy. There seems to be 4 main shoots that have shot up a little bit over the others. But there are 10 secondary shoots from my count, as well as a few lower ones that I didn't count.

I have two of the clones I took rooted and in another area, but due to lack of room I left the two slowest recovering clones in this tent, so they are flowering with it. If it works, I'll probably get a couple extra Gs come harvest time.

Anyway, I'm watering it every 3-4 days. She's a thirsty girl and just getting thirstier, about 1 gallon per water.

I know everyone hates the blurple LED panels (don't worry, only one Pic), and I definitely am interested in upgrading at some point. But for now, I really don't know I can ask for much more out of it.
Plus this plant has a lot of potential and the budlets look plentiful early, so here's to hoping to smooth flowering phase.

One thing I'm only slightly concerned about is the humidity. It's summertime here and humidity has been between 45-60% throughout the grow.

People talk shit about blurple, but you gotta start somewhere. You’ll upgrade when you’re ready. Check out Quantum boards, they’re really badass.

As far as humidity, let me know when you have a solution. I have a cabinet that runs 37% rh in the day but 60+% with lights off. I’ve really considered getting a small dehumidifier but I haven’t found any journals or anyone that can testify. My outtake fan is on it’s highest speed and I’m achieving negative pressure.

My biggest concern is the humidity or lack there of when I’m drying. Do you have any good techniques to let your buds dry and cure without the shitty hay/grassy smell?

I figured out that you have to have a slow, but not too slow dry. I took a cardboard box with a lid, ran a pair of boot strings through some holes in the top to make a drying box. I'd leave the box top on, but opened a little bit when I was asleep, but the rest of the time I'd leave the box top on. Just open it and move the air around when you can.

That method finally got me buds that were smokable right after dry and got better with a jar. Hanging in the tent just got me the hay/wet grass smell, even after curing.

Dually noted! Thank you

She's putting out some buds now and starting to get frosty. Still stretching, but oh well. I think it's going to be some fire and it seems like it's got the potential to be a pretty good producer.

The humidity is still a tad high, but I think I have enough airflow in the canopy that it'll be alright. It's putting out plenty of trichomes so that's a good sign the humidity isn't too too high.

The trichome production on this plant is amazing. I was/am concerned about hermaphrodite problems because it's a bagseed. But it could be a selfed "super plant" too!

I did another defoliation and hopefully it's the last one. Every time I trim some leaves it seems like it gets a little growth spurt, kinda like transplanting. Not trying to push my luck though.

I've been giving her FF Tiger Bloom and compost tea every other watering and I'm watering every other day now.

Yeah, I've never gotten anything but fire from The Lodge.

I had one flare up of gnats last grow, but other than that it's been all good. I left the bags I used this grow out on my deck in the sun on 100 degree days. I don't know if it had much impact on any potential gnats, but I know it cooked up my soil something nasty.

Thanks for checking out my grow!

Its probably only half golden goat. The mom was for sure goat cuz thats where you got the seed from. But the dad or hermie mom could have been any plant that was in the garden. Unless the goat hermed and pollinated itself you've got a half goat hybrid lol. Lookinh pretty good tho man.

Yeah, I have no way of knowing. It seems weird that in a zip, I only found one seed. Seems like there'd at least be a few in one hermied/selfed bud or something.

Doesn't matter to me though, as long as it's fire haha!

That is kinda odd. Sounds to me like the weed gods threw you a fat bone lol i love finding seeds in good bags of weed. Idc what anyone says about bag seed, i have grown some crazy good weed from bagseed. Better than anything from greenhouse seed co for sure haha

Haha I've had good results with the bagseed I've used. I had one hermie issue, but other than that I've had success.

I am going with your first diagnosis and not tempting the weed gods by looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I am moving in a couple months, so my plan is to upgrade my grow light/space and actually order some genetics so I can do a little in home breeding for future seeds.
