Im so nervous. i hate seeing doctors. Im seeing him for ptsd and hopfully getting my card soon. After today i will have spent a total of 400$ trying to get my card, and i think i will have to have one more doc visit after this one because if you dont have any records of medical history, they charge an extra 50$ and prescribe pills first.

Wish me luck! ill report back and let you all know how it went.

This may be too late, but tell the doc narcotics make you sick and you want natural meds. Have you come right out and asked for an MMJ card? That's what did. I had no med records either.

Well it all went pretty good here in New Mexico. :D

Turns out, it wasn't actually a doctor i saw, it was a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
We talked for a good hour and a half, maybe longer. She ended up giving me an antidepressant and xanax. Since i didnt have any sort of medical history, she said ill have to see her like two more time, "to tell me the meds didnt work" and then i would be a strong candidate for medical cannabis. And she said from now on the visits will only be about 5-15 minutes.

So their probably going to keep charging me for the next two visits, im hoping no more than 100 per visit, and then i should be good to go.

i took a xanax yesterday shortly after i got home from the visit, got sleepy, tried to fight it and stayed up for about 3 hours. finally i went to bed, it was around 8:30. Slept like a champ. Woke up at 7:30 and have been in a great mood all morning. About to take my dog and little bro on a hike now.

In CA most doctors will not prescribe opiates and benzos if you are using Medical Marijuana. It's very disturbing that doctors would rather prescribe dangerous drugs by the hand full, causing nasty side effects and permanent damage, than letting patients use cannabis to reduce the amount of narcotics needed, not to mention that cannabis side effects are very minimal. Big Pharm Corporations have a grip on this nation and have the power to actually coax doctors in the way they treat patients. It's a crying shame. New laws need to passed and passed quick.

Such bullshit, give ya some pills made in a laboratory vs something that grows naturally.
Can you tell your doc you just don't want to take prescription pills?

Ya know I would do the same thing, I'd come right out and tell him what I want. But I'm in my fifties and dude is prolly much younger, and that's the problem. He may just get what he wants but it depends on the doc prescribing. Good luck though.

They want your money, so they stretch out the visits. Call in a week and tell then the Xanax doesn't agree with you and you really don't like the idea of taking narcotics. You say you've spent almost $400 to get your cards, so there should be some medical records there right? I'm confused. Wanna help you get your card dude.
