Going To 12/12 Light Cycle

Ok i am getting ready to go to 12/12 on my light cycle i just have a question when you put them in do you want the light on when you put them in or off? I have heard to put them in the dark for 24hrs when you first flip them? Let me know what you do. Thanks

my lights are on timers. 6am-12am for vegging. when it's time to switch to flowering the lights go off at 7:30pm and come on at 7:30am. So to start flowering the lights go off at 7:30pm and come on at 7:30am, that is the first 12 hours of darkness.

I have tried both methods and in my own experience turning the lights out for 24 hrs does jump start the flowering. I had a plant under cfls and it took about 3 weeks for the flowering to start. When I put one in 24 hrs of darkness it took about 5 days to start flowering.

Thanks for the replys. I heard the same thing with the 24hrs of dark so that's what I am going to try out.

i guess. ive tried that with a bunch of different strains and never noticed a difference...so just try it lol its not gonna hurt anything
