Going commercial

For your photos I would try a white sheet in the background and have lighting behind the sheet, this way you shouldn't need to edit the background just color correct. You want to defuse the lighting your using to take the photos so there are no hot spots and have your camera flash turned of because you can see it on the light in the photos. Hopefully that helps a little.

The lamps look great. I think you would do well in replacing the veros with something more efficient. The question, however, is not just making quality, but having the regular grower to understand the difference. Just look at me, Ive spent tons of hours here, and in some aspects, it is still an elusive topic to me.
I think you would do well to make things easy to understand on your website. Perhaps a "regular information", and an "advanced description", as you can see when buying computers and A/Cs, would make it easier to divide this information. The sales pitch needs to be easily understood, and visuals are often your friend there.

Thanks for the consideration :)

After my Vero stock is gone that will probably be it. I already had CXB 3070 AB and recently put CXB 3590 CD on the website using the new enclosure. Only one lamp so far but more will be showing up in the next couple weeks.

As far as delivering technical information in a way people can easily understand I think you are right and I will be focusing on that in the next couple days.

Bonjour
And if you want to open a franchise in France just tell me...lol!
I already converted a few guys who told me that I should sell some...!
When a product is better than the others it is easier to promote it and find good arguments to sell it!
And when it is a beautiful object it is even easier! (Like yours! )
Have a great day ★

Bonjour
Did you explain the difference of efficiency between a 600w (most used) and vero/cxb?
It is revelative!
And cob lifetime...100000h...even 50000h...35 complete cycles (30 days vegg + 70 days bloom)...3 grow per year or say 7 every 2 years...10 years without loosing much efficiency!!!
They have to change bulb every year...reflector every 2/3 years...and ballast??? Who knows?
Cobs are amazingly effective and efficient every growers who like quality and quantity should run some!
Lj!
Have a great day ★

I agree, besides the excellent spectrum cobs are money savers even though the up front cost is higher... difficult to convince people of this as anyone who has spent any time on this forum knows well. I do have a bit of information of the typical PPFD when HPS is used but I haven't sat down and really worked out concise and comprehensive selling points. When I do have the informational aspect of the website done I will surely ask some of you guys to give opinions and suggest improvements.

Cheers!

I can proofread and suggest punchy edits with the best of them. BOTH of my folks were English teachers, lol! Let me know if you'd like a hand.

And I forgot to say, that one of the things that got me hooked on Area 51's SGS-160, was the promise of future upgrades. Supposing that COBs are the future in the LED game, it would perhaps be a good idea to consider "future upgrades". A way to replace COBs in your lamps. Of course many things must be accounted for, such as driver capability, what the COB is fixed with, and probably loads more. But it may be a good way to "hook" clients, letting them know, that they can buy your stuff with little to no worry, since they can still get the "new and greatest",which is quite an addiction for most growers..... I could elaborate a lot with, but you get the idea, and can probably add more strings to the picture, than I can provide.

Not off track at all, thanks for your thoughts on it. I like the idea of upgradeability but I would need to put more thought in it on account of other things you mentioned. A CXC upgrade would be easy enough but not sure I want to use it as a hook or make promises in that regard.

g'day Rahz,
Just been checking out the new website and it looks great :weed::leaf:
are you taking PPFD readings 2 foot away from light?

Thanks! It's still a work in progress but I'm happy with the overall visual style.

The PPFD figures are calculated based on emitter efficiency and light footprint using the QER values provided by alesh.
1st impressions last/only 1 chance to make..... etc

i really think its worth hiring a professional product photographer for a day-take ur lights to his studio let him do the magic

a lot of non-techy ppl would not buy from ur site simply because the numbers dont mean anything

not my place to say but just trying to help your start-up

sorry if its annoying

This is good feedback for me too, as I'm also dealing with product appearance and overall 'look' preparatory to rolling out my own line of growing equipment.

Thank you Rahz,

so is the 200w led comparable to a 400hps?
The only information I can find on 400w bulbs indicates about 120 lpw. The 200w Vero on my site, while being the most efficient retail vero lamp I know of other than the 1.05amp Vero 29 on my site, is not equal to a 400w hps. Comparing raw lumens it would be about 235w of hps directly compared to the 400w bulb, but without a majority of light experiencing reflector loss.

What the exact comparison might be I can only estimate, maybe 260-270. At any rate the ppfd in a 2x4 would be about 540, a strong veg lamp or a low ppfd high phototropic efficiency flower lamp. 3 in a 4x4 would provide a little over 800 ppfd.

Not overly exciting but still similar in cost per par watt to the other cob options available.

The truth is, led is just getting to the point of 2x per watt over HPS and when it comes to the Gavita it will take at least 70% efficient emitters to approach 2xing it, and it will probably be a while before anything like that hits the market. Pretty much every ad you've seen over the last 5 years claiming 2x hps has been a lie. Mid 50s are a possible reality now and I will have more of that showing up in the next couple weeks.

Anyway, I think the T4-200 is a solid lamp but am thinking the future of Tasty Vero will be short. I will have 4 different models in the CXB line, most of which haven't shown up yet and I will prefer to work with that. They will all be making an appearance within the next couple weeks, with a couple different drive currents represented. I have a specific focus but could lean higher or lower depending on where the interest is.

Very informative, thank you! I've recently made the unhappy discovery that my 860W CDM lamps on magnetic ballasts are still pulling the same 1075-1100W as they would with a thousand watt lamp. I'm thinking that CXB3590 running at 56% will very easily double the PPfd/W of that trainwreck!

I'm soooooo done with HID...

Not annoying, I appreciate the thougt. I have thought about professional help, also considering buying a camera and tripod and playing around with backlighting the backdrop to see if I can improve my own results. The latest attempt is much better than the previous.

Can i replace my 1000w hid in my 4x4 tent with a cx9?
Bonjour
How many gpw do you pull with your 1000hps?
Cause if you go for a good cxb panel be prepare for more than gpw in organic soil!
Less electricity, heat, nutes...more weight, quality, longevity!
Since I switch to cob I don't want hid anymore...it will be nonsens...bloom cob vegg better than a mh!!! And what to say about bloom compare to hps night and day!
