Goddamn lights

My neighbors have a light on the back of their house. Now if I check on my girl she looks like she is sleeping. But she is just not starting to flower. And it seems that everyone growing around Mr has had their girls start to flower

Any insight?

I have that problem with one of my greenhouses.

Today happens to be the day I begin using a black plastic sheet to screen the light from my plants.

I put it up at sunset, and remove it each morning.

It worked wonderfully, last year.

I had the same problem.

Thats not a bad idea. But I do not have it in a greenhouse. I hope I am just being impatient

Man...I think the BB gun is a good plan! FWIW, my outside plants are not in flower yet and I live in the country where it's darker than 6 feet up a well digger's ass at night.

Depending on how big the plant is, when Im growing in pots on the deck, I put a cardvoard box over the plant after 12 hours of light.

Cant do most of that. My neighbor are clueless as far as I'm concerned. But theres no fence so putting a box or some of my black plastic will draw attention. When she starts to flower, all bend her off to the side if necessary. I will be getting an over sized clone soon so she will be more hidden.

I feel your pain! I'm STILL waiting for my plants to start to flower, they had pistols for the last 3 weeks.

If you can't screen the plant, I'd suggest bending it over, now! Once she starts blooming, her stems will quickly become rigid, making splits and breaks far more likely.

How far away is the light?

Do you have any large potted plants that can help screen her from that light?

Its fairly far I would say 20 or more meters. Probably more. Ill take a picture of it. I have seen plants "sleeping". Their leaves are lowered down. There is a tomato plant in front of it. But the angle is not good.

Id say 30-40 feet away would be fine aslong as the light isnt strong enough to get to the plants and let them absorb it. Just my guess tho.

even if you have a light on them at night like a backyard spot light... its not close enough to the plant for it to absorb the energy...

I've been dealing with neighbor's lights for nearly a decade.

A dim porch light, 40 feet away, has had a dramatic effect(not good) on the plants in one greenhouse.

The black plastic had a huge effect on bud tightness and quality.

I think anything you can do to block light sources will have a positive effect.

I wonder if thats why mine are not budding yet? I have a 6 foot NL plant that has pistols n thats it

But mine are not on at all times, the neighbor just puts them on when he takes the dog out.

Also were the light rays actually reaching your plants or were your plants still in darkness but the light was visible from a distance?

Well its over 40 feet atleast. Here. She looks like she is sleeping. If she is not flowering in a few days ill do something.
