I am having a gnat issue with indoor grow but I dont belive they are hurting the plants they are still in veg state. I wipe some out others survive and have been going thro this cycle for a while I dont think any died the last time I hit it with the Neem Seed Oil (must have built resistance) but my main question is will they eat at the bud come flower stage
 
Gnats for the most part are an annoyance but can do VERY big damage to a crop. They can eat roots and bring problems very fast if not erradicated. I use gognats its a cedar oil soil drench. I use it once per week for three weeks and I also put up yellow sticky traps and spray pyrethrin once per week for three weeks to kill flying adults. This should kill them. You can also use pyganic soil drench or mosquito dunks which u crush up and water. I say the gonats is best. Good luck with your ladies.
 
I got gnats among other insects from a crappy bag of scott's soil from HD......I heard cinnamon on top of your soil works so I just tried it....see what happens.
 
cinnamon? im mite have to try that cuz im havin trouble with them too and were yall get gonats from????????a hydro store or wat??
 
Check to see if you have root aphids, they turn into gnats ( or flies that look like gnats).
 
You don't want gnats in your grow room! the larva eat your roots..

A small bowl of vinegar in the area will attract mature gnats and drown them.. Top tip :leaf:
 
from personal experience gognats dosent seem to do much after they already get in the soil.... it seem like more of a preventative. im going to go pick up some azamax on friday and see if that will shake these fuckers
 
SPINOSAD is really good against fungus Gnat larvae.

You should ALWAYS have some form of sticky traps in your grow room to attract anything that manages to enter. Something else to look for is where you think they are getting into your grow room, That is if you are indoors and not outdoor.

If it comes down to it you might have to chop your girl down clean the plant and make clones of her but wash the clones then put them into a different area for them to root and try to clean the area but also get rid of the soil that you grew in and bought because that might have also caused the problem.

Fungus Gnats are not something to ditch your grow over. They are easy to eradicate. YOu just need to be thorough.

I never said ditch it I said cut the plant down and turn the plant into clones and make sure to clean the clones very well and move them to a different area while you are cleaning the grow space.

Its not even as drastic as that. YOu can clear a plant of FUNGUS GNATS if you are methodical in your approach. He could still take clones after clearing the gnats and flower everything together GNAT FREE.

The above statement, as written may seem simplistic, but it's not true.
Anyone who uses oils should be using a rotation of two to three
different oils to be effective for any length of time, even then, you might keep bugs at bay,
but you're not going to kill everything simply by spraying with Azamax.
Pricey, but well worth it? Well worth it for the guys selling it to
you at 25 bucks a bottle.
 
Went the lazy route, and well it worked 1st spray! Haven't seen gnats since and its been several weeks. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Which oils do you recommend anyways? I know about neem, what else can you use and can you mix them together? Just curious maybe when I run out of Azamax I can try something new and save a little $$

Put some liquid oxygen into the soil that will kill anything in the soil, i was reading something about how it not only is good for oxygen into the roots but it also kills everything bad in the soil aswell' a got abit on my finger and it stung too fair play, made the bits of my hand that it touched turn white, dont know if it would work but give it a go' at the end of the day the only thing it will do if not kill them is put so oxygen into your soil lol'
If just started a new grow but i had little white worm looking things in my soil and when i looked it up on the net it said that they live under the soil and live off the roots, they came from gnat lavei' dont know if i spelt that right, anyways i found something called tabbco juice, it said to take 2 strong ciggerets and leave them soak in water for 24hrs then next day boil it for 3-4mins, put in a spray bottle and spray the leaves, hope this helps dude scunk
 
Sorry for shooting down your post my fault, I've beed dealing with mites, not gnats, again my fault for posting in a gnat post.
As for mites, Azamax alone doesn't kill them is what I meant earlier.
Gnats may well be controlled, or killed better with Azamax, I think I
remeber using it when I did have a small gnat problem, it never got to be a bigger problem
so it may well of been Azamax or one of the other oils that stopped them, plus the diamet-whatever the earth
that cuts them up I used that too.

Have you guys looked into spinosad?

I ship mine to the UK from the USA and it costs me more for shipping than the bottle of SPINOSAD, but i do it because it will kill MOST pests, Its also OMRI listed, its a bacterium very similar to that of BT for Fungus Gnats, but ALOT BETTER, It does not harm predators either.

Is spinosad organic? I did a quick search and it said it was " both organic and biorational" What the hell is biorational?? Too me that sounds not 100% organic, kinda like some of FoxFarms products.
