Gnats on top soil out door

Hey guys, I was just outside with my newly planted girls I knoticed black nat lookin things goin crazy on top of my soil(ej) ill try and catch one for pics but anyone got any ideas?

well if they are fungus gnats they will eat your roots. if you're growing in planters put sand or something on top of your soil so they can't lay eggs.

Just put the sand over the top and it will stop the cycle. it will take like 2 weeks to see the reduction in gnats though. they have something like a 2 week life cycle.
