gnats during flowering

That only kills adult flyers. When gnats become flyers they are towards the end of their life. Another week or so. If you are growing in soil. Topdress with some compost. Bugs hate that. Plus predatory mites are found in compost (little red guys). They eat bugs and larva and decaying organic material. Then once their food source is gone they die off. Best and cheapest method imo. I haven't had any bugs in over 2 years. I topdress with a mix of compost and worm castings every few weeks. Oh make sure the compost is vegan, no manure. Eco scraps from home depot works good. Plus you also get all the beneficial bacteria, fungi , and enzymes from it.
 
Oh,, heh.. by peroxide water, I mean water it with a cup of peroxide (3.2%) to a gallon of water .. kills larva INSTANTLY.. every stinking one of them.. also aerates soil and for occasional applications, encourages uptake of some nutrients..

Just spraying with peroxide water will ENCOURAGE the critters.
 
And a little cup of apple cider vinager with a drop or two of dish soap! Just sit the cup on top the dirt!

*sigh*.. for 25 years this is ALL I use.. period.. and of course sticky traps or attractants for males.

As for killing bacteria, it may be worth noting any damage by peroxide is negligible to the damage the critters are doing. Thee is a REASON h20 is employed by farmers across the country in their watering techniques. Anything you 'kill' will be back in a plenty and healthier than ever because you don't have a bazillion critters in your soil chewing on new roots which really IS damaging..

But hey, everyone's own mileage may vary. It works 100 percent for me always, but others may try other methods. I wish them all luck, I hate critters.
 
If they just showed up during flowering, it will take at least a month for them to fuck up your roots. Peroxide will kill everything in your soil, including good microbes. Use stickey traps and if you really want to kill eggs at this stage, which I wouldn't worry about, use the peroxide, but it is a double edged sword, in that it will kill everything, good and bad.

Again.. and there is room for your jibe and mine.. but worth noting, I use it at any stage of flowering or veg (although they only come in with new soils, I don't have an issue with them as a standard) and the ONLY effect I have ever seen, is the plant just seems to love it and for a few days is walking around like a cat with it's tail held high.

Using h20 and watering crops is nothing new in horticulture. My plants always respond stunningly to it.
 
Just random links.. but along with water, ISO alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, other than nutes, my plants never see anything else.. well, rarely and then it has been years. The stuff is INVALUABLE in your 'kit'. At least in my opinion, although I am just a humble soil grower these days who only knows as much as his next harvest.

everyone uses h20 . That's water. I think you meant h202. Peroxide does not kill bugs or larva. The larva can sometimes go dormant from too much o2. Just like if you dry soil out. But then they wake up. Collect some gnats and larva and put them in a cup of peroxide and a cup of diluted peroxide l. You will see nothing happens. Years ago I had a gnarly gnat infestation. I tried neem drench, peroxide drench, pure spray green, nematodes, go gnats, soap drench, mosquito dunks. Every spray at the hydro shop, covering with sand, covering with perlite and nothing worked. Until I tried compost. That was accidental. I was using compost for other reasons. It worked within a week all gnats were gone. It was a 6 month battle. I haven't had a single bug on my indoor or outdoor in over 2 years. I've only been growing for a little over 10 years. Compost is cheap. Other than that you can buy predatory mites and lady bugs. But the predatory mites will be in compost.

I can go on.. yes H202 kills larvae. In 25 years I have never used anything else (other than a physical attractant like wine and sticky traps) and got rid of them every time within 2 days BAM.



 
Nope nope nope. Peroxide is bad for organics. Have you actually seen larva die? If its on the internet it must be true. Show me some university studies or scientific studies not some random website.

My goodness.. if I hadn't seen larvae die and know how the bloke could control it in minutes, I would of never said anything.. it kills larva PERIOD. There isn't a commercial organic farmer in my circle (I was one for years and and I know many) that doesn't use h202 as part of their kit in one way or another.. bad for organics? Wont kill Fungas gnats? Yikes..

Like you say, and I wont fault you for it, a bit more reading on the subject might behoove you.. and I don't mean that in a snarky way.. I mean as in PLEASE.. for your gardens sake and your own sake, read up on the stuff. It is a wonderful wonderful tool effective for much much more than just pest control. Find some science sites.. DO NOT believe cannabis sites.. I'll grant you that, and never do anything you read on here without checking it yourself elsewhere, and then double checking that too..

You can use mosquito dunks dissolved in water then water your plants once you do this the larvae from the gnats in your soil will eat a ingredient called BTI (Bacillus thuringienis israelensis) which will poison the larvae, this does not do any harm to your plants!

battled these fuckers for years and killed all them with the dunks

its a well known fact that peroxide kills off bacteria, fungi and enzymes which is the heart of organics. With organics you feed the soil. The bacteria, fungi and enzymes break down everything for the plant to uptake. Enzymes also break down dead and old roots and promotes new roots. Bacteria and fungi also protect the plant from pathogens and insects.

I think you need to do some more reading. In fact take some botany classes. You might learn something.

It is a well known fact that h202 IS organic and that it KILLS fungas gnats.. that isn't even in dispute.. .. Yet you said it is bad for organics and DOESN'T (you said this, over and over, and it is utterly wrong, you wont admit you were wrong, and why you want to mislead people is anyone's guess)

Anyone can get on any of the 'real' organics sites real quick and find out the skinny,.. the rest is just kid shit.

If you want to put that poison in your link in your body, then fine, but maybe other people might like to try just adding an extra molecule of oxygen and be done with it.


I'll let you have the last word, I've said everything there is to say on my end.

To the OP, sorry your thread had to turn silly. H202 works, is 100 percent organic and 100 percent effective.
 
I will add I have been reading and enjoying Hyroots posts for years, quite often agree with his advice, and will continue to do so... If I came off like a dick, and I probably did, well.. I am old and sore and it makes me grouch.. back when I was young and healthy I was just a real asshole for no reason at all..
I hate when I feel I made someone else feel compelled to snap back.. I am really all about peace and love and guitars and well.. I dig chicks too.. heh
