Surprise surprise, i been saying HLG lights didn’t match up to the specs. Their build quality always ends up looking like a diy light. Unless recently added they didn’t offer controller ports on their lights(wtf even hid lights have controller ports.)

But for me it was the marketing. Every new light they drop is supposed to put out as much light as 1000 watt hps. Even back when it was just a 480 watt light they for some reason called a 550.

I’d rather buy a mars hydro if I wanted a cheap led. Not one that’s priced the same as much nicer fixtures but is clearly less engineered.

yer thats what i thought..., maybe it can be done via the controller/trolmaster?.

its almost like the people designing these lights dont know what they are doing?...:-?
If you can dim to off the main driver it should be possible. But most people i know seem to prefer the security of a mains power timed relay which wouldnt be supported.

Let’s be honest there’s A LOT of disappointed fan boys on here after hearing that.
I'll be honest, I'm disappointed. I don't know if I fall in the fanboy category, but I'm willing to admit that I believed their rhetoric and have echoed it a bit in the past. I've only bought HLG products for DIY situations, so they have been pretty cheap for me. I still think their QB96's are a great buy for DIY projects in high ceiling situations, but I only use mine for 3-months out of the year tops, and then I swap them out for bar-type lights.
