Global Warming... Oops, I'm Sorry It's Now Called CLIMATE CHANGE

i dont know how else to put this the overwhelming majority of the scientific community agrees that human influence of greenhouse gasses has the greatest impact of all known factors on climate change.

i do my own research i dont consider this a political argument but many do therefore some cannot look at it subjectively. i know some scientists disagree about humans being the largest contributing factor to climate change but they are the minority its not a conspiracy.

Why address that, when you can bash Al Gore every other post.

"They are a minority", the cry of tyrants everywhere.

Is that even debatable?

Yes it is entirely debatable. The rest of the world is waking up to the canard which is man made global warming. The cap and tax scheme is being reexamined all around the world and has been found wanting. Japan, Europe, Australia, new zealand are all starting to either repeal or stagnate their cap and tax legislations. Once again, the US is going the wrong way.

Man made global warming is quite close to looking like a religion. Data which has no scientific basis is being accepted because it jives with a particular, as opposed to actual verifiable scientific data.

I dare say that if you believe in man made global warming and at the same time you declare yourself an atheist, you are mistaken. You do believe in a religion.......

I see no connection between religion and global warming, except maybe the naysayers are of the athiest persuasion, although, there are plenty of scientists that are atheists that believe global warming is real. The question is: why in this day and age does anyone disbelieve it real? Without reverting to Name calling, I'd have to say in the least degree, they must be a little less than dull normal. Maybe in your case cracker, since you claim to have a 180 IQ, the bell curve closes back in on itself and you are really below the idiot level. That would make a lot of sense, especially in this regard.

Both religion and man made global warming are based upon FAITH, and not verifiable under scrutiny scientific data. Nations are starting to rethink their positions about hamstringing their economies on something which is increasingly in doubt. The vast amount of inconsistencies and plain old bad science surrounding the "man made" crowd, is beginning to look like the "intelligent design" folks.

In both cases, it seems the faith comes before the science, which tends to skew the outcomes.....and in both of these cases.... it does.

The root cause of consternation seems to be monetary, what a surprise. And all you naysayers were eschewing the premis that the reason everyone was squacking about global warming was so they could get rich from the Idea.

what... huh?

A few things.

An Inconvenient Truth

The film eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Al Gore's personal story and lifelong commitment to stop global warming. A rallying cry for action

Figure 1. The Keeling Curve is a record of CO2 measurements taken at he top of Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii since 1958.

"For those that have eyes, let them see" All you naysayers are pretty un-informed or more likely just ignorant as a whole. If one were to investigate the "facts", I'm pretty sure they'd get on board with real scientists and meteorologists, instead of the quacks that for the most part work for industry and the "Bush" government. Reality is real and bullshit is bullshit, your choice. Either you side with Bullshit or you realize the facts. This sticking our heads in the sand philosophy is dead and stinking. Yes Opie, global warming is real and is partially if not mostly caused by Man.
So glad you brought this up.

Here is the problem with Gores data, as any scientist will tell you. Of course there is a direct correlation between CO2 and Temperature increase. This is chem 101. Carbon alchemy is not exactly rocket science.

C + O + Heat(energy) = CO2.

When the temperature rises, CO2 is formed. Not the other way around. This is yet another form "factual demonstration" knowingly manipulated for political, and when I say political I mean monetary, reasons. You are being used because you are uninformed. The ice core samples as far back as we can reach will always demonstrate the same results because their correlation is inverse.

Anyone want to address the ozone hole? Or... uh... lack thereof?

I want all you hippies to understand two things.

1. You are being manipulated for profit.
2. We are not destroying the planet. Even if all of your worst lies were true, we would not be destroying the planet... we would be making it difficult for the planet to sustain us. The planet will live far beyond us. We are the frail thing.

OK 3 things...
3. We aren't a threat to nature, we ARE nature. If we take ourselves or any other species out, it is natural law and part of the natural process. Life will always adjust. We are not above nature, we are natural.

OK 4 things...
There is no such thing as a synthetic product. All products are of the earth, and can combine themselves in any puzzle that we can. Poisoning the earth my ass... the poison is OF the earth and only the earth. I don't know of any products made of something foreign from a meteor... and even then it would be natural. Whatever alchemy we apply to these natural products can exists, and likely have existed a thousand times over naturally. Billions of years is a long time. The planet has been scorched, and frozen, bombarded and still it remains. It will remain long after we are gone.

Fuck earth day.

Here... go blow your mind on something actually interesting.

how completely ignorant can you be points#3 and #4 are simply offensive and a disgusting way to look at our roles as humans on this planet. its simply troubling that anyone thinks that way how sick and selfish.

Frankly I find the fact that you consider yourself above nature offensive and disgusting.

After all, we are animals, we just use our brains more.

The history of the planet, that's 4.5 billion years, shows that everything will die out when its time comes.

We are no different. To think differently is sick and selfish.

Of course the Earth will "always" be here, it survived way worse things than us......Its not about the Earth its about what KIND of Earth you want your Grandchildren to live in.

I am not a fatalist. I do not believe we have a role. Nor do I believe a meteor hurtling toward the earth has a role. You imply we are somehow not bound to the laws of nature because we have reasoning. I believe it is a flawed position.

Is the meteor sick and selfish? Or is it just a meteor?

As to 4... where do you think we get poison? Uranium?

If I kill myself... is that not part of natural selection? If I do it in a way that makes you laugh when you read the headline... does that make it better? The planet does not need us, we need it. It is in our best interest to preserve sustainability... that was not my argument... my argument is that we are not harming the planet.

All animals, ourselves included... YOU included, operate out of self interest. It is hard wired for survival of the species. Accept it. Embrace it. You don't give a shit about the spotted owl... except in how it makes you feel to pretend you have exerted some measure of control, because you fear chaos.

Stupid monkeys.

Well I remember a story a few years back that Al Gore had a 10,000 dollar a month electric bill. So when this story broke he had all of his lights replaced with CFLs. Global warming/climate change is the scam of the left wing. For instance Nuclear energy is the cleanest, safest, and most productive choice today but they won't let us build them in this country of freedom and liberty. Someone will probably say what about 3 mile island accident. Well my answer would have to be that was 1979 and we are now in 2009. I would have to believe that with the advancements in our civilization that there have been many improvements and breakthoughs in Nuclear Power. Now this left wing won't even stop terrorist regimes (N. Korea/Iran) from building there own. Russia and the US have in the past offered the Iranians Nuclear power rods for nuclear power for little to no cost (I beleive it was Free of Charge) Instead Iran has taken action to provide themselves with the necessaties to build nuclear weapons.

Oh yeah this was the point at first. Al Gore what is the carbon footprint of a 10,000 dollar a month electrical bill.

If global warming isn't real, why does the majority of the scientific community agree human beings are causing an increase in the CO2 emissions?

Are you a scientist? Have you studdied global warming for years?

What kind of an agenda would a scientist pushing for the existence of global warming have? How's he making money by getting this false idea passed through the community? What would be his motivation?
