I moved these beauties to the flower room 4 days ago. I had only planned on letting them veg to 18 inches max. Well they took off (especially the BD cake × Chem D) and got a little taller than planned. The tallest is probably around 3 ft. The shortest strain (do di dos x grape pie)is around 14 inches tall. My question is should I trim some of these fans, lower branches, and/or bud sites? If so how in depth should I get? Dont want to end up with any scraggly buds. Most of them have 10 branches including the 2 tops. The bottom branches are about even with the tops on most of them. They're all getting a butt load of light so that wont be an issue. Looking to get the most QUALITY bud as possible. Thx in advance fellas.

I'm still new to this site but I personally would remove any growth below 50% of the height of the plant. When you flip to flower they could double their height. All of those lower bud sites would end up small and taking much needed energy from the main tops. I do lollipopping and super cropping just before flipping to 12. Then after the "flowering stretch" I'll keep the lower portions bare of any new bud sites so the growth is concentrated in the kholas. Not saying you should do that. It's just what has been working for me. \m/

Thinking Im gonna trim some of the lower bud sites but leave all the branches. I do have great light penetration all the way through to my drain table but the bud sites are so stretched out at the bottoms I have a feeling Ill still end up with some scraggly popcorn buds down there. I topped them about 12 days before flipping but the tops are growing up super fast. Would you leave the lower fan leaves or take those as well?

I leave the lower branches as long as they reach 50% of the canopy height. But I remove the growth on those branches if they are lower than 50% of the height of the plant. Pic is white widow 7th week of flower. I vegged to 12 inches high. Stretched to 24" after flip. Kholas are 8-10 inches tall. 20210427_115926.jpg

Little yes, headspace nope. I'm not recommending to cut them all off. Lollipopping works for me and my space. That's why they are at 24" tall.

You cut off most of everything. Leaves grow bud and it's clear you've been overfeeding on a large scale. Not to mention a whole host of issues.
