OMG, that's almost enough to get me to stop smoking. But on the other hand, I only smoke what I grow now so I'm sure I won't be finding teeth in my weed. I laughed when I first read your post then it made me feel sad. What the heck happened to that guy?

Can you give me a little evidence pretty please!?
evidence? its going to be hard to give you evidence unless you've tried it. ok but anyway hollands hope is one of the original strains out of the netherlands(and we all know they the best). i'd also have to agree with alot of ppl on here that there is really no chemical in MJ that makes you laugh. the effects of it are based on the amount of THC mostly in each strain. i cant comment on holands hope thc content but i watched some videos on CNN last week called "Americas High" you can search for the vids on cnn website. there is a government funded growhouse that analyses the potency of different strains from DEA busts. they discover thc potency has increased to an average of about 10-15% as compared to an average of 5-7% 30 years ago. what im trying to say is that the buzz u feel targets different body parts. perhaps the laughing only occurs because you feel the buzz in your face.

Hey can.i.buz,

I believe, as others have said, that high THC content is what you’re looking for in a strain and harvest times is where you want to experiment. This is what I do: say I’m growing three Sativa-dominant plants of the same strain. I’ll harvest one when about 25 - 35% of the trichs are cloudy - I call that “happy”; I’ll harvest one at 50 - 65% and call that “social”; and one at 75 - 90% and call it “mellow”.

Which one I smoke depends on the situation. Say I’m going to a comedy club with some friends – I’ll break out “happy” and we’ll laugh our asses off. But say I’m worried because there’s a bunch of cops cruisin’ the neighborhood – I sure ain’t going to smoke “happy”, because “happy” will turn into “paranoia” and next thing you know I’ll have chopped down all my plants and stuffed them down the garbage disposal. “Mellow” would be my choice in this situation. “Social” is great for parties, working around the house, sex, etc.

In my experience, it seems like most market weed has been harvested late in the cycle (probably to maximize yield). Experimenting is one of the advantages of growing your own. With the Sativa's you like to grow you have a large harvest window, take samples throughout to find the various effects. Of course, chopping your plants at different times isn’t a good scheme if you’re growing for distribution.

And, as you well know, eating MJ magnifies the results – I make some “happy” chocolate bars that’ll have you laughing non-stop in the right situation. Vaporizing is also a great way to go; the first time I vaporized some “happy” weed I watched “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle” - stupid movie but I almost died from laughing :lol::lol:

You are totally echoing what I've been thinking except the edible part. And I think early/happy/Sativa and early/happy/Indica etc. would be interesting. That's why I started this thread, to get to the bottom of that. As far as edibles go, most people use leaves so they would have high CBD and less THC. More of a couch lock........for hours.

True that, but I use shake buds and high-grade leaf from the colas to make my butter, the rest of the leaves go into the hash bucket. Not much couch-lock with my early harvest stuff.

Keep us updated; I prefer a cerebral or social high in most cases and would love to hear where your experimentation takes you!

Thanks, I shall. I'd love more input. I won't be doing any more growing until Jan. 2010 though.

Dont take the question litterally take it as whats a strain that can put you in a good mood reguardless.
And everyone is right though it depends on the person not because of personality but because of tollerance.

For me it would have to be O.G.Trainwreck or the cheeses put me in a happy place too!

OK, I need to know about this trainwreck. I went to a growing class and they said the reason it's called trainwreck is because it sucks so I've never tried it. Now I'm on this forum and lots of people like it. Anyone else had good experiences?

I agree on it being personality but I'm the same person and as a general rule, I belly laugh at least 5 times a day. But sometimes, I smoke, and it's uncontrollable. I love that and want MORE!

Trainwreck seems to be the staple as far as Sativa-based medical marijuana is concerned up where I live. I’ve never grown it (don’t have enough room, would have to ScROG it or something) but I’ve seen it grown. I went into this one dude’s room and ran out screaming, there was white shit all over the plants and I thought he had spider mites. I’ve never seen so many crystals, top to bottom. The plants were tall and spindly, and he had stakes and string going all over the place holding the branches up – it looked like a wreck. His stuff had a very intense and heady high that creeped up on you. It tasted like a ripe fish that’s been cooked in diesel fuel and freshened up with just a hint of lemon. Great in a bong bongsmilie.
He doesn’t grow any more, went and got married and has to be “responsible” now :cuss:. The stuff my daughter gets that’s called “Trainwreck” isn’t nearly as good and often has seeds in it, like it came from a hermy. I don’t know, maybe the strain has been degraded?

If you can get a hold of quality clones then I would say it might be a good candidate for your “giggle weed”.

G13 gives me the giggles. I got some Blueberry x Sour Diesel that did it too, right before I got couch-locked, lol.

I got some delicious Blue Cheese x Train Wreck but that stuff just makes me all stoned.

Usually a headier high gives me giggles.

Back to the trainwreck thing, I agree, it is hard to find quality trainwreck but when you get a good back its well worth it. and as far as the seeds go its all in the phenotype and the way its grown. hermyism can be caused by lack of darkness in the dark stages or just in the plants dna.

right now i got some blueberry haze and this is no "giggle weed" its bed time bud.

also. im lookin at papaya seeds.... anyone have any words on this?
