Given that in my State, and likely a couple others you can only grow 6 plants.... Hydro Stores & nursery's only have standard seed flats which have 72 cells. Thats great for starting reg. garden seed... but WTF??

Why don't they have flats and humidity domes about half size, with say 12 cells, and a little space between them?? Yeah I know I dont have to use all 72 cells, and I can space them however I like.

And the 100 pack of Root Riot cubes.... If I only need 6.. why not have a 25 pack. And of people just wanting to try them out, the smaller package is more convenient... and if you dont like them you don't have 90 left that you might never use.

And how about a Humidity dome that fits a 5 gal bucket?? A 2 gal bucket with a humidity dome, lid witha few drilled holes, and an airstone would make an awesome clone machine.

Jiffy has some cute Mini-me stuff.... which might work great so long as your using thier pellets. I dont want that. I want a Mini-Me Flat, and giant humidity dome thats fits the mini-me flat.... specifically intended for MJ. Smaller size packs of Rooter cubes would be nice too.

A humidity Dome for 5 gal buckets would be nice too, and it would be a HOT item.

I'm sure its not going to help my popularity resurrecting yet another old thread but I'm having the same problem..
I've been thinking about turning a square 4galon bucket into an aeroponic cloner, the bucket lid is right around 10"x10" which is pretty close to the standard half flat detention. All the half flat (10x10 or 11x11) domes i can find are only about 2" tall unlike the full flat (10x20 or 11x22) that are available in 6"-7" . I have even considered taking a full flat dome, cutting 9.5" out of the middle and gluing it back together with a half inch overlap at the seem but all the big domes seem to have raised lettering/and or vents molded into the top making that approach impracticable as well (I am sure trying to iron it flat would be problematic).. It seems that this would be a perfect size for people needing a 9 site aeroponic cloner that fits neatly into a 1 square foot aria..

Anyone know where to find a tall humidity dome in the half flat size?

That's not a bad idea Guile, i would do like you said and just cut and seal the dome. At the hydro shop they always cut up humidity domes and then throw the plastic over it to make a custom little chamber.

I've been doing some reading on thermoplastic vacuum molding (I'm thinking this is likely the process that the commercially available domes are made).
It seems that a table can be made from plywood, pegboard, and some 2x4 lumber.. Used in conjunction with an oven to heat the plastic and shop vacuum to pull it around the mold, this should duplicate the process sufficiently to manufacture such a simple shape. Though the setup cost seems a little high for a single item..

Do you think there would be enough interest that if I made a few extra I'd be able to sell then at a profit that would help offset the initial investment? Unfortunately the 1/16" plastic seems to be almost $10 a sheet so I'm thinking the domes would have to bring closer to $20.each

Or are there any handy "people" out there that are already set up to do this sort of thing that would be willing to make me a dome for about what I had mentioned?
