Geyapex LM-P4 Grow - DinaFem Blue Cheese

This is the (more or less) official grow log, testing the performance of the Geyapex LM-P4 COB light.

Here's a link to the album: https://imgur.com/a/ZKLnV

Starting Space:

A 2x2x5 Des Jardin Dark Street tent, containing 2 6" clip fans

The medium is Millennium Soils coconut coir, the brick kind that has been flushed and re-buffered. I've also crumbled a tenth of a mosquito dunk in there for good measure. This replaces Canna Coco because my normal hydro shop had inexplicably brought in Viagro soil and stacked it next to the Coco. No thank you to the free case of fungus gnats and who knows what else...

Now as for the seed... This little lady is a Feminized Blue Cheese from DinaFem, procured as a freebie from Attitude Seedbank. If for any reason it fails to take off, I have a Fem HSO Black D.O.G. waiting in the bullpen to take it's place.

There's literally nothing to see at this point, the seed is in paper towel rehydrating.

My intention is to grow this out for 4ish weeks, then flip to flower. I have limited space, so probably going to LST with a single topping, though I could be convinced to manifold.

Updates should be expected at least 2x per week, more frequently upon request.

We have Life!

Way too much stretch, so turned up the lights from 65W to 90W.

This girl will stay put until we have 3+ true pairs of leaves, then will be moved to a 5G Smart Pot.

^^^^I would start feeding your girl asap.........you're in coco
I started feeding 1/4 strength nutes when the first true leaves appeared, but failed to increase that over the past week. I work in an industry that has been heavily impacted by the hurricanes in Florida and Texas, so much overtime has been worked and thus little time to mix solution.

That was fixed Wednesday night and the little girl is already perking up, I expect to be topping this Sunday or early next week to begin a manifold/LST. Probably be able to start flower at the end of the month if she recovers well.

oh yeah, i've been having more luck at a pH of around 6 instead of the 5.8 that a lot of people suggest. Got some monsters in flower that seem to like it quite well.

Ok folks, I do have a Sunday picture, but i'm literally too tired to do anything but collapse in bed. ETA - Tomorrow morning after coffee.

Well, time to admit to an idiot mistake. I'd forgotten to pH my last batch of veg nutes. Instead of going in at 5.9 (my preferred pH in veg) I was getting 6.85...

That's a pretty big damn difference. So the past 19 days of veg have gone very well for having nitrogen uptake issues :)

Flushed the Coco with plain pH'd water and then a fresh batch of properly pH'd nutrients. I suspect she'll be perking up quite nicely over the next few days.

Picture Time. This was taken yesterday. I'm going to try to get on a more steady update schedule of Sunday/Thursday for the rest of this grow.

So, top and LST, or full on manifold? I've got some space in my main tent now, so I'll probably also be keeping a clone of this girl.

Alrighty,
So my Sunday plans of helping a friend turned into an all-day affair. Again, picture is Sunday but was too damn hot and tired to computer. To make up for it, I have pictures of today's S&M session.

So, here's the album for those interested:

Day 24 Veg, Sunday night. You could say she bounced back from the poor pH ranging...

Day 25, immediately following topping.

Day 25, after a little defoliation and some light bondage. You can see the top in the lower right in a ghetto humidity 'tent' - if it takes off it'll be going in my big tent to go with some Black D.O.G.

Here she is tonight... Balls I'm tired. Yes there are some deficiencies. I've upped my CalMag and verified pH, looks like she's just growing too fast for the amount i'm feeding. She is a bit droopy, the coco got a bit dry - busy day, didn't get the chance to feed until about four hours after lights on.

There's also an unfortunate bit of damage to the back branch, it let go from the main stem just a bit while i was adjusting the ties. It's currently being supported in it's original position by a garden tie... we'll see if she scabs over or if it's gonna be a clone...

Okay. Back home after a bunch of very busy days and Canadian Turkey Day this weekend. I missed the update last week... I feel that I have a good excuse: i trimmed (by hand) about 8.5-10 oz of Pineapple chunk, this is on top of a bunch of 10 hour work days.

Please expect the pace of pictures to increase - after all Flower is far more interesting that Veg. Plus Flower is where lights really show their worth. I'm going to start shooting for 3x weekly updates starting 15OCT.

Anyway, onto today's picture. Day 6 Flower. Preflowers are just showing up now, and we've got a Girl!

She's bushing out quite nicely and will require some defoliation and taking of side-shoots very soon. My clone is kinda hanging in there too, there are a bunch of roots, but I may end up tossing it if it doesn't perk up by the end of the week.

Mine is coming down this week so I should have a dry weight within 10 days. Yours looks great!

Well, photo tonight might be delayed. Thanks to a storm power is out though about a quarter of my city and about a third of the remainder is under brownout.

Alright then.

Power has been restored, but I'm not changing the light cycle at this point - lights will be back up tonight. Hopefully she's not too stressed. Expect a pictures tonight, wednesday/thursday and sat/sun depending on my schedule.
