Howdy :)

As title says I was thinking to get seeds from Feminized Photoperiods. I have been following growweedeasy.com guide 'force female plants to make pollen' . Yet i have got some questions here ..

Right now i have 12 Feminized Photoperiod plants in vegetative status. I am going to turn 12-12 soon.

Since i have only 1tent like most guys here i am going to spay some few plants (few parts) colloidal silver to make pollen. I am thinking to create collodal silver my self according to groweedeasy article.

My question is Will my other plants (non sprayed ) will get hermi or seeds as well ? As everything inside same grow tent,

My seeds are running out and i am not thinking to re purchase seeds from seeds bank due to stealthy shipping issues. So i want to make seeds also want to make seed less buds from other plants ?

Can anyone help.. I search on the forum and lack of answers there..

Please do bump at least.

If you haven't done something like this before, then I feel like your best option to make your pollen is to cut some clones off the plants you want to self, or make crosses with, and then use those clones to make your pollen away from all your other flowering plants. And you can use a simple cardboard box with 3 or 4, 23 watt cfls bulbs, or a single qb 144 with a HLG 40 or 60 driver also works great, to flower those small clones after you spray them down with CS/ST to make your pollen. Then anytime you are flowering other plants, you can use the pollen you have previously made to easily pollinate whole branches or even a single bud sites without worrying about pollinating other whole plants of your entire flowering room because you can actual contain each 10 to 12 hour pollination process simply by using small brown paper bags to contain the branches or single bud sites you might want to pollinate.

Read about Silver Thiosulfate for this chore. Instead of colloidal silver. Especially with your lack of experience at this.

Keep in mind that using colloidal silver on plants that are already selfed (feminized) seeds will keep the inbred hermaphrodite genes as prevalent. I know from my own experience that selfed seeds from hermied plants don't always stay full female; that's the risk you take with fem seeds. Selfing seeds again and again magnifies this trait. Pirate bug is correct; clones are much faster and easier than going through the whole process of forcing selfed seeds. Not saying not to do it just that's it's not the best fix for your needs. Nothing more disappointing then finally getting to pop the seeds you worked so hard to grow just to find out you are now growing a batch of mutant pollen chuckers.
Regular seeds are not as much of a hassle as you think. It's only a few weeks of setback to sex them out and then you just clone the hell out of the girls. It is worth the effort to plan for a shitty yield just one time so you can do a seed run of pollinized females. Then you can have your own stock of seeds literally for years.

Does using 2 plants inhibit or fix the seeds from going hermi ?
Such as plant #1 you use CS to make pollen then use that pollen on plant #2...both plants would be clones from the same mother which started from a feminized seed?
I find it difficult to find many places that have good strain selections of regular seeds at fair prices that are actually worth buying...spending $100+ just to possibly end up with all males and then you'd be sol beyond crossing them with a female of another strain.
I've just started trying CS on a feminized plant to see if what I bought will actually make pollen, but only in day 2 so far...hoping its not just a waste of time...lol

Oh I think it will work; its just you may be better off in the long run going a different way imo. No selfing 2 plants that were clones of a selfed mother does not cancel out the hermi trait. In fact you make the herm trait more prevalent. Any time there is self pollen alongr the lineage the hermi trait becomes even more prevalent. Hermophroditism is buried in the genetics of all strains. That doesn't mean every plant you start from selfed seeds will herm; it takes an external stress to trigger it.
A "feminized" seed came from a female plant that was induced to herm out with CS. So if you use CS to induce male flowers to grow on a plant that was already selfed once you are making the hermophrodite trait even more prevalent. The seeds from this incestuous union could be prone to herm with even just minimal stress.
I have been through the wringer on this myself which is why I'm trying to warn you selfed or "feminized" seeds kind of suck. I have had plants throw pollen around in my bloom room at the worse times which completely destroyed yield. .
Using regular seeds solves the problem instantly. Have not seen one single male flower on my plants since I switched away from fem seeds but used to get herms all the time.
Understand the need for fast bud; peeps like fems for convenience but it only takes an extra 10 days to sex out regular plants. You should end up with about 50/50 m/f ratio under optimal conditions. If you select a couple good strains and cross them once your stock of seed could be limitless. You are right though finding reputable breeders with affordable seed is no small task. If you are in the US consider looking at domestic seed banks. Here's a link to one of my favorites out of Oregon:

Thanks so much for clearing that up for me...makes more sense now. :)
Unfortunately I'm in Canada...Ontario...to "import" to here can be risky and then shipping seems to almost double the costs unless making large purchases...oh well I'll keep looking and who knows someday maybe our gov't will allow us to outsource and we can get away from their unknown crap they distribute...lol
Thanks again

I wont be able to build another grow room...Only way buy seeds or create seeds from this vegitative plants :( Sorry for my english. I really wish those seedsman team ships like they used to...
