Get crackin!

Started germinating my seeds for this summer’s grow. Pretty excited. Only been 24 hours and 3 have cracked so far. Good start! I’ll keep them under lights until frost is done and then it’s on! When do you guys/gals start your outdoor plants?

On it , seeds to be cracked and SkyWalker x Hi Octane, Sdog, moby dick all above soil

probably another week or two for me... it doesn't get warm enough to be safe until june where I am, so waiting a little won't hurt... been mixing some dirt though... and there is one plant outside right now that was from a fallen seed from last year's grow that is doing its own thing. It's been going for over a month- it isn't growing very fast with the constant cold, but it isn't dead either, so I think of it as a success. (there were actually two that popped up, but one died) ... it would be nice to try conditioning a line over multiple generations to be hardy enough to grow in the early spring or even late winter... I don't know if that is possible, especially with the low light of winter, but it would be great to be able to extend the outdoor growing season.

I assume it’s like ph down. I use ph down to make the water more acidic since my tap is like 9 ph. I bring it down to 6.0.

H2o2 is thought to increase germination rates by breaking down the seed coat, thus allowing the seed to take in more oxygen.

In March, on the full moon or a few days before.

Spot on buddy! Peroxide soften the shells on the seeds to make them germ on older seeds and provides them more oxygen

Also can scrape the sides with sandpaper or crack them open a tad with exacto knife (last ditch methods)

Under 16 hours, 12 hrs soaking in the 1part peroxide/5parts water and 4 hours in the paper towel first sprout and she a Fem seed

I've been using peroxide for several yrs now but for a different reason. I use a bit of it when I soak my seeds to kill any possible harmful fungus or bacteria that may be lurking on the seed itself.

I personally have not seen any difference between germination rates or times with using straight water or using the peroxide mixture.
