Germing it up.

Well, according to my USPS math, girls should arrive tomorrow. Crossing my fingers.

What do you guys do for germ? Paper towel method that people think damages taproot? Soak in water for 5-8 hours then into the medium? Just, you know, right into the medium with light watering? I like the paper towel method for the instant gratification of knowing shes going, but I usually just plop them in the soil.

What are your thoughts guys (or gals)?

soak in water for a few hours and then right into the medium.

my mom always told me to quit wasting paper towels when i was a kid, valuable life lesson.

I soaked in shot glass untill they sank, well ok, only a few sank, and im impatient, tossed in some TP (papertowels are on the shopping list) in baggys, had them in a drawer but i think that was to cold, put them in a warmer spot and things are moving along much nicer...

but theres no reason tossing them in the dirt wont work, I just like to see the taproot before I put em in pots....

I like to use Oasis cubes once they've cracked in a glass of water. I get to watch them unfold ... and with Oasis I'm set for either soil or hydro. Fwiw. cn

Between damp paper towels, in a zip lock, placed on the water heater for a day or so has worked well for me.

in a pill bottle with a drop of kelp. when seeds sink, plant in 2" peat pots. any that don't "up periscope," don't deserve to live.
