Germination help

What is the best environment for germinating seeds? Do they like warm dark and humid?

I recently planted 8 seeds, they are in 3 gallon coco coir pots. I went straight into my final container.

Right now the light and fan is off and the tent is getting humid. Is this good for germination or should I turn the light and fan on? (Im guessing)

No light or fan is needed until they sprout. High humidity helps with germination but after they sprout room temps & relatively dry air are best.
A plastic sandwich baggie draped loosely over the top of a solo cup filled with soil is my preferred germination method. Now that they are in 3 gals maybe a large freezer bag would fit. Next time go with a smaller container to start them in & transplant once they get a few nodes. A seed heating mat underneath can help them push through faster but it's not required to get them to pop off.

Dont wait to ask the best method of amputation until just after you cut your foot off.....

Dont germ a seed until the setup is ready, and your plan is outlined.... prevents a post a few weeks later "What do I do, somethings wrong, what is it!?"

Patience is gonna be your only tactic at this point.... Just wait and dont mess with them to 'check' on them. Just like clone roots, you cant do much but wait wait wait....

In the future consider an alternative germ method, and transplant into your grow pot.

I toss seeds into a flask on a stir plate (I just happen to have one, not everyone does) and after 2 days, its got a tap root popped out... Put that into a rooting cube, and I am all set.

With your method.... they may be duds for all you know, and wont be able to tell for like a week or 2...

Oh wells, keep a dome of some kind over them for humidity until the got their start leaves out, pray to the weed gods, smoke a bowl..... and just wait....

Because if you don't you will have fewer spots on the roots from where new branches of roots appear. It is good to step up to something with a radius 2" more than the current pot each time. This will be about 3 different bags from seeds until they are big enough to bloom, at which time I would size up my bags one more time. The sowing the seed directly is a big part of the perfect starting formula, it just needs to be in the right thing.
