germinating

okay so I have never had a problem with this before i always germinate my seeds with paper towels, however one of my seeds isnt germinating. i keep it in a dark warm place and check it once a day to see if it has ferminated is it bad to give it too much light am i doing something to prevent it from germinating by checking it daily ? it has been in the towels for about 4-5 days now and nothing is it just a bad seed ?

Might be a bad seed ... try soaking it in a cup of water in the dark

will do so how long shall i give it till i give up on it ?

If you soak it and it floats for more than a day, or so, the embryo has dried and died. Seeds should sink after 12-24 hours, meaning they're fully saturated and viable. Plant those.
