Germinating exspensive seeds help!!

I've got some expsensive seeds that I just purchased from attitudes germinating ( trying to). I've germinated hundred times using either a wash cloth or a wet paper towels and These have been in there for 5-6 days now and still nothing. It's not the seeds thats bad...it's the cold weather. The wash cloth and / paper towls are too cold to germinate these seeds who has another idea to get these beans to start germinating. and please EVERYONE respond as I'm about to loose my whole batch. How do I keep them warm and is there another way that you recommend. :wall:

hi

i use paper towel method and what i do to keep the right temp, its placing papertowel with seed/s in a plastic bag on a modem or a router...those things runs at the same temp 24/7 ...and its usually the right temp for the seeds. worked for me all the time and it takes less then a day to see the roots...

hope it helps, all the best!!!

I have heard of people putting the seeds in a baggy, with some air blown in and sitting them on an open laptop. router would work just fine though! anything with a little warmth.

Also another thing that can be done is put some sandpaper in a matchbox and put the beans in, give it a shake and this will help them absorb water quicker and sprout out for you :)

Good luck!

Thanks for the help guys! I'm thinking about taking them and putting them in a bag and laying them on the back side of my laptop with a a shirt over that also. I honestly have never had a problem germinating and I am struggling with getting them going.

On top of the refrigerator can provide some additional heat. Works great for me, but I'm not sure how cold is cold. Laptop may work, but I'd be careful of burning them.

Did you pre soak them first? Did you scratch the seed at all?

I have decided that I am going to just go buy a $20 heating pad. Although should I use papetr towls or wash cloth? In a sandwich bag or wthout??
