germinate seeds help plz!

should my lights be on or off while waiting for sprouts?

like dunhuvind said, it doesn't really matter one way or another, but i like to leave mine off till they pop out of the medium first as i find it helps to keep the medium moister..

I turn it on 3 days after I put then in soil so when they come out they go towards the light. I've still had some grow upside down though...
