General Organics line up

So I haven't been the happiest with my results from the BioCanna line, especially the Vega. I was thinking of switching at least my Veg nutes to GO Bio Thrive Grow, if not giving the whole line up a shot, until BioCanna gets their shit together.

The problems that I'm having is the Nitrogen def that the BioCanna Vega has. This has caused me nothing but trouble since I started using it. I have been using Nature's Nectar Nitrogen to try to help balance it all out, but I still keep having problems. I'd like to get something that has a well balanced diet of what my plants actually need.

SO! For those of you who use the GO line, are you guys liking it? Is it pretty much follow by the chart week by week? I would like something that is pretty self explanatory, but has room for tweaking. BioCanna has never been follow by the chart and I've pretty much winged it since I started using it.

I know there are a lot of you who swear by BioCanna, and don't get me wrong, I've had phenomenal results with it. I just end up dealing with so many weird issues, that I don't really have the time, nor the inclination to work with something that is already flawed. I think it just needs a little more work and maybe a few supplementals to help balance out its weaknesses.

So thanks for the help and Happy Friday. -Bird

Sorry can't help you with the G.O. line, however the BioCanna line is certainly not flawed. It is formulated for use with their BioTerra Plus soil, which is not currently available in the US, but if you contact Canna depending on the medium you are using they will tell let you know you may need to supplement with some N and CaMag as their soil contained a decent charge of both.

They also recommend checking the PH of the nutrient solution and keep it around 6.0 to let the medium play with it.

So if you are just using Pro-Mix like you sig suggests that is probably your issue. Try doing a 50/50 mix of Pro Mix BX/Ocean Forest or a 70/30 mix of Happy Frog/Coco and you should have better results.

I just received my G.O Box yesterday, I can't tell you if the plants like it or not, but ill post results as they go on. I think this could be a solid purchase tho.

I'm running the whole go box and think its quite a nice lineup. Ive heard rave reviews and have been wanting to try out botanicare products, they have an organic selection and those which aren't certified a lot of are derived from all natural ingredients. Silica blast and liquid karma are supposed to be great additions to any fertilizer regime and their clearex is a great product for flushing with. But like i said right now i have the g.o. line going in my rotation and am very happy so far

I used it for a grow awhile back had mixed results. I only used biothive veg/bloom and the calmag , instead of the supplements i used maxicrop soluble seaweed and liquid karma. It worked good for veg but in bloom i didnt have good result. Though may temps were like 88f when budding which problibly some of the problem. Didnt seem to have the right ratio of nutes for bloom. I recommend using it for veg and a soil mix for bloom. I also found myself have to use 3tsp per gal for plant over a foot every watering. sry about the clutered post im on a ps3

I keep tellin ya mang, it's great stuff. I go pretty much by the "heavy feed" schedule if I'm in straight soil-less, and "light feed" if I've heavily amended (which I usually do), give straight h2o once a week, and BAM! The future of rock n roll. You must use the calmag, but I'm currently experimenting to see if I like theirs or Botanicare CalMag better. I'll keep you posted. There are a few extra goodies that I supplement with as well, and I'm getting phenomenal results. I don't generally feed during veg because my soil mix has enough of what they need, but I love GO for flowering.

im with wolverine on this one...i use the entire line on the "heavy feed" schedule and so far i love this stuff...this is my first organic grow using it, so im just basing that off what i have seen up until now....i have also used there non-organic line previously in soil and hydro and had good results with them also...i give it my thumbs up

Ya, ya, Wolverine, lol. I have a full set of Flores and Vega left. BioCanna has to prove to me it is worth it. I'm going to bump my ml's, use vega further into flowering, and see how that helps on this next batch, and go from there.

So you guys are saying, basically on the GO feeding schedule that you are doubling your ml's, so week 1 would be 10ml grow, and from then on it would be 20ml? Same for everything on the chart? I do love the BioCanna BioBoost. Could I use this with the GO line also?

With the soil mix you're running I think you could go with the light feeding schedule (I think I remember reading that you amend your soil, but maybe not). As far as I can tell Bio Boost and GO Bio Bud are very similar products (The Bio Bud is less than half the price) so I think they could be used interchangeably.

I'm just running straight pro-mix right now. I was having problems with my soil/soilless mix, so I just went straight soilless. I do want to get into soil mixes, I just don't have the time right now. So until I get to that point, I want to use something with a good balance, and IMO, BioCanna just isn't that. I've had some great results with it. I went on a 4 plant cutting spree yesterday from 10am-3am. Nice big monsters, it is just still missing something.

I know the feeling about time, or lack thereof that's why I generally start with bagged soil mixes and modify from there since it saves me a step of two. I'm giving a hard look at mixing from scratch though, both to save money and prevent the constant barrage of soil-borne pests (gnats mostly, but recently root aphids as well). I will say that my first run with GO was a little lackluster, but it's only gotten better since then.

What problems were you having with your soil? What were you using previously?

I was also thinking of switching to soil mixes for my dirt grows. I don't really have a ton of knowledge about them, but was thinking about doing super soil or Danny Danko's mix. I've used Happy Frog in the past. It was just so damn hot, that I couldn't do anything with it. I kept burning my plants with 5ml waterings until about week 3 of Flowering. I cut it 50/50 with some pro-mix the next time, but then I started having deficiency problems.

We should hook up sometime and chew the fat... seriously. I've got my system down pat, though I tweak it as I get bored. Finished quality is insanely good, yield is even better.

I'd love to for sure man. I'm down for whenever, just let me know. I always love to talk shop and see whats working for other people. Especially organic soil growers. I'm the only one I really know in my neck of the woods.

i am really digging the GO line. i have been using the GO veg, root, calmg, bloom, & biobud for several months plus great white myco. was using sunshine mix out of the bag and was having def problems. needed to feed real heavy and supplement(guano & phish emulsion which i'm trying to get away from). i went back to mixing my own mix(local organic pot. soil, EWC, perlite, vegan mix 3-2-2, and cutting w/ sunhine to lighten a bit) and i dont think i will be switching anytime soon. ladies love it! i don't need much in veg cuz of soil mix & tea. in flower i typically feed light/medium, tea, plain h2o, feed, tea, h20... still working it out but i would totally recommend. btw big ups to LAnsing!!!! my home town!!!

Im using 3 items from the GO line along with my mix. I mixed 80% pro-mix bx with 20% black earth topsoil and ammended with veg and flower bat guanos, EWC, glacial rock dust, dolomite lime, bone meal. Wolverine Im fairly positive that it was u that recommend Bio thrive grow, bloom, and bio bud which are the 3 i got and sofar im happy and my plants are better than last year, thanks worlverine. the plants a doing well and most are pushing 5- 6.5 ft. obviously iv only gotten to use the biothrive grow sofar but it is pretty good, the plants are boomin and havent had much issues with def, i think the calmag and diamond black will be necessary it the future though because i have used some of my friends Advanced nutes to improve the health of the plants, i used piranna and voodo i believe. Im thinking the entire line would be very good if used properly but just the basics wont be enough to produce AMAZING dope without issues and complications.

I used some botanicare organic probloom last season and i was not entirely happy with it so im hoping the thrive bud and biobud will produce better this year. ill probably also apply some of my buddies advanced flower nutes like overdrive and budfactor X just to see if it helps.

Btw I know im no expert and i do do things wrong but im learning all the time and In years ill be alot more knowledgeable, this is only my second grow and it is stealth because the property owner would kill me if they new i was growing

I am about a month into a couple of Jack Herer plants in WaterFarms. They almost died from rot, and were in pretty bad shape when I got them. After about two weeks of almost no growth, they took off. I have been using the General Organics GO Box (minus the "Diamond Black" and "BioMarine") This is my first time growing with organics, and I was surprised how well they have been growing. I figured it would be less growth as a sacrifice for better quality, but they have been growing faster and more consistent than my chemical grow. The maintenance has been heaven! No checking pH or ppm, just set it and forget it. I have been changing the reservoir every 2 weeks, but I get the impression you could go even longer.

man i was planning to get the waterfarm...but i just stick to the soilless pot (hand water methond) however your plant looks very normal and healthy , recovered from the rot ? do you think it will dimish the yield when you harvest it ?

BTW i like your setup :)

Thanks! If I had something bad to say about the WaterFarms, its that they works too well! I'm not as experienced as most on this site, but I don't see the rot affecting the harvest. They are very healthy now, and the roots and main stem are strong. I would say it cost me a couple of weeks though. I am vegging until the scrog its full though, so no big deal. These GO nutes are the real star though! I can't do anything wrong! No testing, just a gallon of water every week and a new reservoir every 2 or so. I would strongly recommend this stuff (at least for veg.)
