Any thoughts on these lights being released next week … they’re supposed to replace the old school 1700E

Fuck Gavita , when there is so much that isn’t Monsanto and cheaper, better costumer service and also better coverage. If it was meCheck out medicled HLG

for same price and full 5x5, ir & uva but also sprectum adjustable and built on timer: I have over 14 lights with multi brands and so far this one def is one of my favorites and if it was around when I replaces my de’s it would of been this fosure.

good compare for hlg

short height/low ceiling led model

Are the Gavitas made with more updated components …like the Drivers are 2023 vs 2021 …
I prefer to get 4x4 coverage on 650 watts… I have friends pulling 2+lbs off the old school 1700e…I’m new to all LED lights… just want to get the most updated lights out atm

I would like to know also, hopefully someone that keeps up with led's can answer. I need to replace 2 Gavita 1700e pro's (power surge). One reason why i will be looking at other brands is because you need to buy a separate controller to dim the lights. F that. But ya, my last run with the 1700 I got 35 oz runtz muffin out of a 4x4. I'm looking at the HLG tomahawlk 650 for a replacement atm.

And if you need to dim the light, well that is going to cost you a little over $600.00 just for the el3 controller. WHAT?
Assuming it uses the common/standard 0-10 volt control method, there are 0-10v dimmers for as little as $20.

EDIT:
Disregard the above comment, it appears Gavita has a strange power and control system.

Medic has the built in digital timer, daisy Chain, water proof and cords are too , spectrum adjustable/turnable , includes ir/uva bars and for under 800 bucks ? 880 true watts!

honestly it’s a champ and I own 4 diff techs and all good brands, when I’m a ultra cob and qb fanboy to be saying this style is my favorite I would of never believed it . My first led’s I got was spydrx plus and they were near 2k with additional 2 year warrenty. Those things needed 6-10 inch to canopy and the ir was crazy strong for that distance. u couldn’t work under em being soo close. God what a mistake buying four of those. I sold those for 500 bucks even thou I did 3 runs . Fuck those lol

but these new tech led’s don’t have to be 6-10 inches but also really do produce that ppfd/spectrum plants thrive under. I put my medic led 14-20 inches and plants loved it like my qb’s at 18-30 inches

Aren’t the Drivers updated as often as cell phones? Would it be wise to invest into the older lights when the newer ones with everything updated get dropped and budget allows for it ?

thoughts? Gavita is garbage the lights are garbage - ever since they sold out! Now the best lighting I personally would go with Grand Master Tarantula Borg see below:

Or Dimlux Xtreme Series they offer it in: 1000w, 750w, or 500w - they also offer doppler radar and a plant camera that will reduce the light output based on the plants transpiration level.

either way the above 2 is what I would buy personally.

Stay Lifted!

Does the 1900 even have an adapter for USA standard outlets (110-120)? I’m not seeing it anywhere and Hawthorne has no info
