So, if you take a look at the Gavita website it mentions that at 100% the input is about 645 watts. I've always been under the impression that you want to try to get to 1000 watts for max production and growth. My mission in the last few runs was to experiment with the lighting to see what results I get.

From what I understood, you want to try to be at you max output in week 6 and start lowering in week7. Now, you might see this and advise me in a different direction, but I'm curious to hear what the strategy is when it comes to lighting.

Here is the light schedule I use with my Gavita 1700e's

Light % in flower:
week 1 - 4 - 100%
week 4 - 105%
week 5 - 107%
week 6 - 110%
week 7 - 110% end at 105%
week 8 - 105% end at 100%
Flush - 100%


Again, I can't find any information about the wattage output when going above 100% for the Gavita's. Here is what it says on their website:

i read somehting interesting not too long ago about thinking of bloom lighting as a bell curve. low-high-low essentially
Yes, that's exactly what I've been doing. I just kind of want to find out specifically with the Gavita's how high of percentage I should hit. Also, want to find out if their is a particular order to go in.

can't help you with that brand. maybe buy a kill-a-watt meter?

I think its futile to look for internet answers on these kinda querries: light intensity should be modeled on plant health and plant needs, not on some arbitrary list of watts. The amount a light can take is plant and strain dependent.
Id agree on using a low-high-low sequence though.
Absolutely. They might not be able to handle it so you don't want to make it systematic.
