Thanks. LOL.. actually clean up was a breeze.. had dollar store plastic shower curtains thrown down to protect the floor and bed sheets..after all was done folded up the mess in the shower curtains threw them into a garbage bag and took turns hopping into the shower to rinse off.. LOL. and the placenta was thrown into a soil mix for an annual flower plant..

I wouldn't tell anyone to do what I did.. but I do encourage everyone having a child to do some research, you may be surprised what you learn.. only when you are educated about your choices and the ramifications of those choices can you make an informed decision on what is best for YOU.. go with what resonates best with YOU... :blsmoke:

I will say this though, LOL.. my placenta wasn't sold to be made into anti wrinkle cream, and my baby's cord blood is in her body where if belongs, not be sold also for a profit.. no DNA for any database was collected from my baby and she wasn't pricked and prodded in her arrival to this side.. the only hands laid on her during that amazing time was loving hands of family.. Ok, I'm gonna hush up now.. I'm seriously still in such awe of her amazing birth.. I DID IT! :mrgreen:

Yes you did do it! That is something to be very proud of and I am sure it was a bonding experience unlike anything else. I give you mad props! :peace:

It's a tradition in many cultures to bury the placenta and plant a tree over it.. well, we're renting this house, so in the ground isn't an option, so in a pot it went.. LOL..

Oh geez.. you're treading into territory.. you don't even know.. LOL.. I almost did eat my placenta. LOL.. it''s also traditional in many cultures, esp if the mother is having post partum hemorhage, eating a piece of placenta about the size of your thumbnail clamps down the uterus and bleeding within a minute of ingestion, it's amazing.. many womens throw it in a smoothie.. LOL.. it was on our list of things to maybe do, but I just ended up taking some shepards purse tincture to stop a borderline hemorhage..

Yeah.. LOL.. weirdly enough nearly all mammals eat their placentas..

Another budding herbalist Stoney? It helped alot with my delivery.. blue cohosh/black cohosh/blue veverian tincture in red raspberry leaf tea to kick labor into full gear after it started.. the shepards purse to stop a hemorhage, rescue remedy to stop after birth shakiness, then a motherwort infusion chased down with orange juice to get rid of the WORSE THAN LABOR afterpains.. LOL.. seaweed on the 2nd degree tear I got, no stitches, it was healed nicely within a week LOL..

Mother nature had it right the first time.. LOL..

I've always been interested. I carry the herb book around a lot, by john c lust.It has recipes for decoctions, tinctures, extractions, etc.And it's complete,lists abortifacients AND hallucinogens.No exclusions. And shepherd's purse can also help with inducement of labor,as it causes contractions of the uterus. I use it on female cats, alog with marijuana to help her with the pain.

Rock on.. I have a few herbal 'bibles' laying around that get leafed through quite frequently here as well.. growing some stuff this year to make my first fresh tinctures.. shall certainly saved me quite some money.. LOL.. the tinctures made from the dry herbs just doesn't measure up..

You're right. I doctor my animals myself as well, and am learning to give intramuscular injections.Farm stores have penicillin...I buy that for emergencies.It's the same stuff they use on people.

LMFAO.. of course.. same as with my first, boobs go from a 36a prepregnancy to a 36C while breastfeeding.. no complaints around here.. the whole household is fascinated with my boobs.. LOL.. little one is mesmerized by them n acts like her life depends on them.. (lol, ok, so it does) my man of course is obsessed with them for sexual reasons, lol, and my toddler is blatantly aware of how they are the center of everything (always asking is my boobs hurt or are leaking, talking about how her baby sister wants to 'eat the boob'.. LOL.. yeah.. I want my boobs to myself for 5 mins.. LOL
