Garage grow Building room need help.

If you go hydro check out Heath's flooded vertical. Very efficient use of light/space and very simple, once it is built
 
I would not recommend you spend money insulating and sheet rocking all your walls.
Your room is no doubt going to generate a lot of heat.

You need a barrier from outside influences like light, humidity, pollen.
No moisture, no light, and certainly no pollen will penetrate through your Black/White plastic.

You don't need to trap heat in the room and that is what the insulation is designed for.

Be careful not to wrap your oven in a coat, if you know what I mean.

As far as sheet rocking your walls.
It's somewhat redundant and less useful than the plastic your putting over it.
 
Garage grow, one thing that I have been thinking about is, because it snows up here, will all the heat in my garage melt the snow on the roof in the winter time, I think yes. Especially if the room inside the room is touching the garage ceiling, it will melt in a rectangular shape on the garage roof, letting everyone know something funny is going on. :shock:
Besides AC, does anyone have any ideas as to what to do with the heat next winter? I guess a charcoal filter and vent it out, but I really want to do a sealed contained setup. hmmmmmmmmmm
I have been looking into a 2 fan chiller, do you think it can keep my temps down enough?

You should buy some ducting and vent out into another room.

Myself, I vent into my garage where it keeps temps at up to 80. But you could even vent into your house and turn the heater off!
 
Insulate! it's cheap, and some what insulates for noise. I always insulate. Sure it traps the heat, that's what I want. Then I can effectively move that heat. If your gonna run a sealed room, insulate.

Use the garage like you planned, some thin drywall and cheap 2x4's are all you need. Build a raised floor with 2x4's also and then when it's all framed up with drywall on the outside and open framing on the inside insulate the space with spray foam including the roof and floor. (just tell the insulators it's a new home office or something.

You really need good insulation to pull this off. If you don't get spray foam then use the most insulation you can and always be sure to keep the humidity in line.
(humidity ruins regular fiberglass insulation, and it's a big problem with a garage grow.)

A space in your garage that's well insulated like that will be easy to maintain temperatures in... A small space heater in winter and maybe A/C in the summer if you need it.

Alot of shit has gone on from the point of question to now. I had to stop my grow because I moved...... So i guess ill be observing everyone else and talking.
