Lovely lookin cab there! Looks the business.

Subbed up and lookin forward to seeing how you get on with the EZ Walmart Scrubber.. I ghetto'd myself one of those things, I'm not 100% in love with it, but I guess it's better than nothing and'll do until I can afford a decent box and CF.

Have you thought about having the lights fixed to the ceiling of the box, and then just raise up the plants? That's what I'm doing and it's given me a lot more room for when I need it, whilst keeping things close in the early days. Plus I don't have to figure out some fancy getup for moving the lights.

Sup Mewk, glad to see you made it over here :)

Have you found that the scrubber is working pretty well to maintain the smell so far?

I have thought about having the lights fixed...but I like having more control adjusting the lights to the plants rather than vice versa. Plus it gives me an excuse to mess around in the cab everyday :D

I've found the scrubber to be kinda so-so. I guess it cuts down on a fair bit of smell, but the Shiva Skunk I'm growing is pretty stinky. Plus my case is still a little rough around the edges, with a good few light/smell leaks around it. I need to upgrade the box really, but that's a problem I'll tackle further on down the line.

I switched to 12/12 this morning... and so the fun begins!

The ez walmart scrubber works real good. Good luck in finding those two mesh cups though. I bought mine some years ago and I don't see em anywhere anymore.

Thanks for the heads up. If I don't find them will just fashion something out of chicken wire following the same concept.

I made one out of small mesh trash can. Didn't work that well. Muffled airflow. You are better off buying them. I recommend phresh and/ or green gator filters. Fans need to match cfm's with filter. If not they don't work well either.

in the mean time you can add some mint, basil, rosemary, lavender plants and they stink and will cover the smell. They help keep bugs away too. You can make botanical teas with them too.

Nope, she's still being a biatch. Starting to wonder if she might not recover. Could be a number of things...maybe even just a chit seed. Hard to know when you only pop one bean of a strain lol.

The Ramrella seedlings are doing great though. One of them turns to the LEDs just an hour or two after turning her container. Just hope one is a female!

Thanks for the chill tunes :D

Did you have your filter set up where the air was drawn through or so that air was pushing through? I've seen a few people place their filters so that the air is pushed through and claimed to have no smell and decent air flow....I don't have the money to invest in an inline fan and carbon filter, not to mention, don't have the space either.

That is a good idea about the plants. Have been thinking of growing herbs anyway to make it less suspicious that I have grow stuff around. Thanks for the tip! Will probably work on that this weekend.

You always pull the air, never push. I had it set up perfect. Used window screen to wrap the 2 trash cans. Maybe that fan wasn't strong enough. But after throwing the same fan on store bought filter. It worked much better. Phresh makes small intake filters for $40. Then you can get a booster fan on amazon for $25.

The plants cost $5 or less each.. I have plants indoors and outdoors. The one neighbor who has kids I was worried about. I saw her earlier smoking a joint on her patio. It was good. I could smell it all the way over here.

I know you usually would pull the air, but I read several places that pushing through is more effective with PC fans because they aren't rated for negative pressure and do a very poor job of pulling through a carbon filter. It probably sounds cheap of me, but I don't have $65 bucks for a fan and filter. My budget is pretty tight. The box is already tiny as well...think about how much precious space a booster fan and even a small carbon filter would take up inside. And don't forget, booster fans are loud...I had bought one from ebay that could be heard easily in other rooms in my apt and very distracting to have in the same room that you're trying to sleep in. That would remove a significant element of stealth from the box. I rather try the cheaper and more convenient option first, especially if people have found a way to do so successfully.

Lol good deal on the neighbor! That's what I miss about my old spot...almost each one of my neighbors smoked, even the maintenance men got trees for us a few times, so I didn't have any worries about smell.

With your bitch of a seed. If you can get aloe , try a foliar. It does wonders. And enzyme tea using either seed sprouts (barley or alfalfa) or just coconut water from a coconut ... It does wonders too. Kelp teas and kelp foliars help too. Plus the botanicals.

I understand being that broke. It sucks. Eventually it gets better

Decided to do a little update since I'm here anyway :D

The Critical Jack Herer really doesn't look much better...going to give her a few more days and then probably will chuck her if she's not coming around and replace her with a couple more Ramrellas. Would be willing to consider keeping any strong males and crossing for more beans. Who knows though, we'll see how she does.

The Ramrella seedlings are doing very well and loving the LED lights. Ramrella II has been growing straight to the bulb closest to her. Is a little bigger than the other seedling and will turn towards the bulbs not long after I've turned her container (make sure to do so once a day). Also noticed that Ramrella II has a green stem whereas Ramrella I has a red one.

*Will fill soil line better for both next time I water and add another 5000k Cree.

Damn GQ! That is a big gift of weed!

are those led bulbs?
Ikr, the best kind of gift :D

Yea, they are LEDs. Took all the CFLs out for now.

Ok, will look around for aloe. Think I saw some at HD. Will look into teas as well.

The Critical jack looks like it would do just fine. It just seems like the soil needs a little more aeration and little less water holding capacity. Don't flush it, just let it dry out a bit and then assess. Hit it with liquid kelp if you can, definitely in the vein of what hyroot was suggestin'

I think it can definitely perk up. I have seen far worse come back.

Those ramrella's look awesome!

Am thinking the same about more aeration, am going to pick up perlite tonight and repot her next watering. I actually just lightly watered her two days ago after letting her dry out over the course of several days. Thought that would have helped better but she still looks pitiful lol. Would love to get into all the enzyme stuff, def need to do some research when I get the time.

Thanks for complimenting the Ramrellas. At least they look alright! :weed:

This one is good, I keep going back it year after year too, when I find new stuff:

They look exactly as they should be. These Cree bulbs are awesome, three days only?? PAR on these bulbs seems to be so much better than the CFL's I am using [trying to phase out, lol]
