Future Navy toys

Just remember that old nugget: "There are two types of ships: Submarines and Targets" ;)
The current administration is making noises about a 350 ship Navy. This goal is insanely expensive during a time when millions of Americans are hungry and homeless. We don't need even half that number for anything besides dominating the rest of the planet for our own ego and enrichment at the expense of others.

And autonomous seagoing drones are just as feasible as flying ones and would be every bit as deadly to manned ships.

Not much different than what I dealt with 40+ yrs ago, or others a hundred years ago
A hundred years ago there was no such thing as a machine programmed to kill.

40 years ago it was a DARPA project.

Now it's reality.

I fear that for all our advancements, we will visit upon ourselves the same fate the Easter Islanders brought on themselves.

Dude, it's all about error not whose error. I had to duck erroneous artillery and also airstrikes. Shit happens; your underlying theme seems to be some sort of conscious malevolence against one's own. Easter Island??!! Gads

Silk scarf. It's in the piece.
The Air Force really wants to preserve its 'solo scarf' traditions of having love bodies in the aircraft. Also, a service's prestige is determined at least in part by the dollars spent to support it. The more, the better!

If this strikes you as nonsensical and counterproductive to the larger mission of effective defense at least cost, then we are very much on the same page.

It goes without saying that the defense companies want larger contracts and fighter planes cost more than drones.
silk/solo choose one dippy

Dude, "White Scarf", it's a WW1 affectation. My father and his WW!! comrades didn't have white scarfs.
Read the article. It's not my term.

I posted the article as background for the UCAS in the original photoshopped pic. The date in the byline showed how old the article is.

Considering how fast the tech is moving, I have to wonder what the capabilities of their latest toys are.

Throwing your mobile phone under the bus! Nowhere in any universe does spell correct change solo to silk, but good delusion.
Not sure if you have a phone with Swype but it makes very (stressed) strange substitutions all the time.

Might crack the screen...

In any case, it seems like you're only here to scrap.

What!!??? That's old news? So ignore it??!! Jesus
The article is 7 years old. That's what makes it old news. That fact, plus the obvious fact that we don't know what all they've been doing in the intervening time is what makes it old news.

Are you just looking for a scrap or something?

The statement you made about the air scrapping the drone program. It never was scrapped. Stronger than ever.

I don't see the AF giving up manned or unmanned aircraft. They will double dip so more contracts are paid out.

Scrap=fight.

No they apparently never did destroy the prototype.

I agree they'll be doing into the Honeypot as often as possible.

Gotta make sure we have everything we need to win the last war...

While the next one beckons.

EDIT: 'dipping', thanks to @curious2garden for the error.
