Okay so I was browsing through google looking at hits in regards to cloning and thereafter. When I find a page on another forum about an individual and his problems cloning. His clones just would not grow. Anyways, I could try and explain it but it is easier and funnier if you read it yourself. Maybe some might not find it funny but I flippin' died.

Clones rooted... But not growing?

I took 8 clones from a plant that was in flower, probably a mistake right there but all 8 of them rooted in jiffy pellets in a humidity dome (dairy queen cake container
) under 2 64w CFL's. After the roots were poking through the netting around the jiffy pellet I put them in see through dixie cups, which I think is another mistake but I wanted to monitor root progress. Anyways once they were rooted in dixie cups I put them in my small grow box under 10 100w CFL's and after a week of no progress in their growth but still nice and green I took out 6 of the CFL's because I thought too much light this early may have been stunting the growth. However, now after another week I now have all 8 "clones" under only 2 CFL's and they haven't grown a bit, still just single leaves with roots. The roots of each clone look healthy, I water each day and also mist each clone because they arestarting to look like they are drying out but are still green.

Any ideas of whats going on?

i'm pretty sure that you have to get a growing shoot (something with some growth hormone). i took fan leaves once and they rooted but never grew at all, after a two months or so.

Soooo.. did does everyone at one point need to clone a leaf and I just missed the memo? The later of the two *red font* cloned his leaf, once rooted grew his single leaf for an additional 2 months.. huh come again:wall:.

Don't believe me here is the link: http://boards.cannabis.com/plant-problems/175012-clones-rooted-but-not-growing.html

That was the single most hilarious thing I have read in a long time. He rooted a leaf, that is too funny.

lmao see I knew someone would admire the idiocy. How did this individual even grow plants big enough to clone if did not even remotely understand the fundamental growth patterns in plants. I didn't think you needed to be a botanist but the thread speaks for itself.

hey, we have a leaf grower here too. he did the same thing, and it's a good sized thread. yes, you can root a leaf, but if you don't have a growth tip, you get no bud. total waste of time...

I had no idea it was a common mistake..

Now I pose a question is it illegal to grow marijuana leaves?
can I fill my garden bed with rooted fan leaves?
