That's just the UIGEA, nothing major. The real thing you need to keep an eye on is the Reid bill. Hoping it doesn't get passed, as I don't know what I would do without being able to make more money than I spend.

An even easier alternative is to just use a checking account. The problem is that ~50% of the banks work and 50% block the transaction. Not sure if it's regional or a large bank, but M&T worked as of like September or October on Stars and I would assume it will work on FTP, forgot the exact date my roommate made a deposit, but his original bank declined the transaction, yet his account was credited the funds, then when the declination reached Stars they put his account negative (he's a losing player) and threatened me because we play from the same IP. Fortunately he was able to deposit with M&T. I had like 30k on Stars at the time, after that occurrence I kept much less, and with the looming threat of the Reid bill I keep even less than that online, under 5k at all times now.

cant have a checking account linked to more than one ftp account. plus now that the mini ftops are almost over my ftp volume is going to significantly decrease. i hate the site, their customer service, their UI, and their tournaments. when some eurotrash call mods on me at Stars i just tell the mod im supernova and they dont chatban me.

you like stars better? honestly the only reason I picked FTP over stars was the ui of the mac client. What stakes do you play? I'm only playing nano/micro stakes 99% of the time I'm playing limit HE. Variance is a lot less, now that I have the family I'm making sure my bad beats don't make me go broke. Technically I've never lost my whole bank roll, but I've come WAYYY to close playing NL5

I used to deposit quite a lot mostly on stars and when they started declining my CC I tried a checking account and was given the credit and like your friend I lost most of it and logged on to a negative balance. I contacted them and everything cuz I had every intention on paying but I tried a couple times and it now I just hanever let me so have a negative account and dont really have any extra $ for poker these days. I'm pretty sure I've played some FPPs freerolls on my account since that happened.
i mostly play on stars but i havent had to deposit for a while now. though i noticed that since the begining of september, i can only cash out with a check or money transfer, and they only issue 1 check a week. its ok with me, just hate all the restrictions the goverment is trying to put on online poker. i use to cash directly into my bank account or paypal (i believe, cant remember), and they're just making harder not only for us to play, but also for them to track winnings. but what do i know, i'm just a 60 hr, 6 day a week tax paying citizens that likes to play poker for supplemental income. but even though my/our tax money pays their inflated (rediculous) salaries, we should not be able to play poker in our homes, just the casions that pay MORE taxs than the average joe therefore allowing thier (rediculous) saleries.
