Fucked up story about police....

So last night at work my coworker Kev goes out to smoke a bowl and so he's walking behind the buildings where we work and a cop car starts following him. Kev, obviously freaked out, looks at the cop, then starts to walk back to the office, cop car following him the whole way. He comes in and tries to tell me what happened, I didn't really understand at first so i just lean out the door and there's the cop. I look at him like what the fuck are you doing? and he drives off! Is it just me or is that completely fucked? What the fuck kind of cop is this? Following innocent people around and scaring the shit out of them, like jesus christ, how would he feel if some asshole with a gun and some handcuffs was stalking him?
It's just fucked up and blows my mind that a person (whose supposed to make people feel safe) could do that to another human being, like the cop was obviously just trying to fuck with him because he fucked right off when I came out looking completely pissed, just seems clear to me that he felt like he was doing something bad/wrong, otherwise he wouldn't have had that reaction to drive away. what do you guys think about this?

Innocent people don't get scared when a cop follows them. I think if you don't want cops giving you attention you don't walk around in public smoking bowls..........

He wasn't doing anything wrong. He was on his beat. If he drove off he probably realized your friend was going into work and just left.Cops do a lot worse than that anyway. You sound pretty worked up but there's nothing to be upset about. Nobody had to talk to the cops, so what are you complaining about?

i dont know, it just bugged me, just sort of felt like ranting about it... The cop could have approached him and asked what he was doing but instead followed him around creepily. Its not like he came running back to work, he said he sort of stared at the cop for a second, then just walked back. and i dont think some guy walking behind an office in his work clothes is very suspicious. Im pretty sure he hadn't started smoking the bowl either, thats just why he went outside, I shouldn't even have mentioned that detail. And you guys are totally right, it isn't that bad http://www.cracked.com/article_17150_5-horrifying-tales-911-incompetence.html heres some pretty bad stories, but I just thought people on this site would be more sympathetic towards a story like this, which is why I decided to post it here. And we were working the night shift at a call centre...

If it was daytime it would have been different.Since it was at night that explains why the cop was doing so.In my neighborhood do you know how many people get shot, stabbed, robbed, killed etc each night.Everynight i turn on the news to see what happened today. Its a crazy world out there.

The cop didn't even give me a chance to ask what he was doing and like he drove right up to the door. He was sitting there for a few minutes too cause kev had to come in and tell me what happened before I went out. I just don't understand why he'd do that then drive off like that, if he thought there was something suspicious going on why didn't he talk to me about it?

and, its not as if every cop is without a sense of humor. Maybe he knew that it would totally fuck with your head and that gets him off. Who knows.

Yeah actually I would rather that, the cop didn't know what he was doing, so whats he going to say? "what are you doing? "im on my break" and then that would be the end of it. I didn't come here to argue about this story, it was merely a rant to get this annoyance off my chest, i thought people on this site would be more like "yeah fuck the police, what a dickhea" but clearly you people like to argue so just stop replying to this thread as i dont care about it anymore.

Me and my friend were driving to walmart, and didn't know where we were going at the time. We didn't have anything on us, and we pull up next to a cop in a left turn lane and end up going down an empty street. Cop ends up behind us, and this has happened to me before so we turn off, but he stays behind us, so we drive around a little more. Were the only people on the road and this cops tailgating us trying to get us to make a mistake so he can light us up. So we drive through a parking lot, through a small road, and around the back way (on private property now mind you) and finally get to walmart and hes STILL following us as we drive through a crowded parking lot. We park, and he stops in the road, we get out and he approaches us asking us ridiculous questions like "What are you doing huh?" as were standing in the crowded walmart parking lot. I tell him, "We're going to WalMart, are we under arrest?" He's like, "No." So I just say we don't have to talk to him, lets go. My friend locks the car and we start walking away and he keeps fucking yelling at us in our face, "If your not doing anything wrong why don't you just answer some questions? Huh? Huh? You hiding something?" At this point like 6 people are just watching staring at this situation with a look on their face like, "What the fuck is going on? "

We finally get away from this cop and walk up to walmart, and this cop busts his flashlight looking in our car, in the wheel welds and shit like we have something stashed.

45 mins later we get out of the walmart and this cop is like 100 feet away with another cop just staring us down as we get in the car and drive away.

Talk about harassment, and a downright waste of public resources. Targeting young people, trying to force them to make mistakes, harassing them, looking for something that isn't there.

there are a lot of asshole cops out there. a lot of good cops too but still a lot of assholes who use the badge to make them feel powerful.

Most cops are people that used to get picked on when they were in school so now they use the badge to pick on people they were picked on.Cops in my neighborhood would beat you up and leave you in a alley or somewhere away from your neighborhood.Thats why New york has no respect for cops another reason why the police force out here is forever growing.

And I'm pretty sure even though you may have looked pissed off the cop was fully within law and not worried about what you thought of him, most cops don't worry about that. I bet his nuts were bigger than yours.
