Jobs in America today are dependent on availability, not skill set or experience. I've met people with PhD's who are unemployed, and others with years of experience who can't find work.

If someone really wanted to make money, there are ways:
1. Buy some candy bars, and resale them door to door with your story.
2. Sell your crap, it will make moving easier.
3. Collect cans
4. Whatever, you get my point.
If you don't want to move:
1. Look in the paper for what work is available in your area
2. Apply for those jobs
If you can tough it out at your crappy job a bit longer:
1. Take some classes at a community college.
2. Do the work needed to get a different degree
3. Enjoy new career
I have worked hard my whole life, and I know that nothing is handed to us for free.
I could have stayed in a crappy job, and complained about it. Instead, I did what I had to do, until I was happy in life.
