Fuck Tilray

So after months of waiting, Tilray launched new strains today at astronomical prices, $13 a gram for their new Sativa. Which coincidentally, or not, is what patients have been most vocal about requiring for medication. Even though all the other coming soon strains or most of them anyway, have shorter flowering times, they launched the sativa first and at a premium. And on top of that they're starting to censor posts on their page. Too many negative reviews I suppose. Fuck Profiteer Medical Marijuana, uh I mean Tilray....

Yup, that's a little pricey, for sure.

Question though - what happens to the LP's that are currently in existence, if MMJ becomes legal in Canada in 2015?

Do they remain open?

Are the other in-the-sidelines waiting LP's going to get "approval" right away?

Are people are going to be able to grow their own?

These are the things that are concerning me.

All the LP's currently are just a band-aid for a broken system.

We need something that will WORK.

Also - even though the prices are high, what are the other options for Medical marijuana Patients?

I am with Tilray right now. I was thinking of making the switch to the next LP - that was always my plan to shop around...

I just have a hard time finding ANY good reviews about anyone else. And I know Tilray - and I actually like it quite a lot right now.

So many people HATE the government so much - and that hate seems to be trickling down to all the LP's.

Are there ANY of the current LP's that you think are doing it right? What is your solution for patients like me?

The $13/g price on the Sour Diesel absolutely sucks, the OG Kush THC level is amazingly low but one of their cheapest strains at $8/g, I am however interested in the Sweet Island Skunk CBD ($9/g)as it has lower THC than Cannatonic. We have no idea what strains were started from seed and what was from cuttings so I will not make assumptions as to why these strains came first. The MMPR is entirely a government sponsored and encouraged corporate cash grab however, any company approved by HC to sell marijuana is in it for the money and only the money, any one of them that tells you different is absolutely lying as corporations (most anyways) tend not do anything simply for the good of it.

I do not hate Tilray, they provide me with medicine that I legally can not obtain elsewhere, I do however hate their lack of compassionate pricing for people who clearly need it (which likely is a large portion of their patients).

Quite simply no. No LP is doing it right. Either they have garbage product and terrible prices or they have B grade product and insanely unreasonable prices. However, if patients were allowed once again to grow, LPs could fill the recreational market gap for people with no hookups, money to burn or are just not yet educated enough to know what quality is. They just need to quit milking sick people for everything they have to turn a profit. Once they can sell to the recreational market, if they wanna rip off some 60 y.o CEO who hasn't blazed since the 70s and makes 500k a year fine by me. If you wanna rip off a elderly patient with next to no income, go fuck yourself and the horse you rode on on.

Yeah and $13/g straight up to boot. No price breaks at 1/4 Oz, 1/2 Oz, Oz or even on a Qp. No black market dealer would survive on that business model. Why? Because the black market is not a captive market like this MMPR fuck around.

$13.00 a gram? Hooray for prohibitionist pricing on legal medicine!

I have only ever been covered by insurance while I was in school. Apart from that, I always paid for all my medications out of pocket.

My average monthly spending on prescription drugs over the last 10 years: about 200 dollars a month
Average money spent on marijuana (recreationally?): 400 dollars a month

Now - I will be spending about 300 - 500 on my prescription from my LP. Maybe less, depends what I have the money for.

I would like INSURANCE to pay for my prescription.

How do we get THAT to happen?

LOL thats $5824 per lb for Diesel which even a few months ago was going for $700-900 in BC on the black market. Not too many people grow it here but even in the eastern provinces I can't see Diesel being more than $1500 per lb. It would take take me 4-7 days here to find it and I could get it for $1000-1100.

In one of the posts I posted some shots of the diesel I got for $600 for 1/2lb about a month ago. Buddy already cut down his moms as it was his last crop with it so that connection was lost.

MIND = BLOWN.

Where I live, you don't get to pick. It's often the same. Green. Anywhere from 200/ oz to 300/ oz. I have heard of people spending 15 a gram or 20 a gram just outside of town.

I have not paid less than 180 an oz ever in my life.

Oh, except for free stuff from growie buds from time to time.

Fuck it sounds better in BC. At least when it comes to buying weed.

Here in Edmonton a lb of AAA will set you back about $1800. If you buy in smaller qualities like an Oz or so it will be about $180. Where the duck did the LPs do their market research? Nunavut? "Hey brah, i can get you a quarter but it's 3 days away by dog sled. It's gonna cost ya."
