Fuck electronics...my lap top that is only 1 year old seriously just took a fucking shit WTF fucking bullshit a $800 lap top that had no issues whatsoever just fucking dies I'm about ready to throw this motherfucker against a wall
 
It's a toshiba runnin vista..in a manner of 45sec it burnt a 2"x2" black spot onto the lower left hand corner of the screen the whole thing was soo hot it was hard to touch I powered off as fast as poss to try to get it to cool down took battery out let it sit for half an hour and now the stupid piece of Fuking shi. Won't even turn on u press the power button and guess what nothing fucking happens
 
man just chill... at least its not a car or something more important.. but anyhow i feel your pain my computer is a piece of shit too... its frustrating.. i heard macs are much better quality.. if i ever buy another pc it'll probably be that
 
Lol toshiba Meltdown. My laptop is a toshiba too and it's a piece of shit. Within 6 months the hard drive failed, then the wireless card only works half the time once the HD failed, it runs hot like it's gonna melt 24/7. I fckng hate this thing. I'll never buy a toshiba product ever again.
 
Dude it a practically new laptop man, and it's not JUST a comp dude it's ALL my fucking shit that is on it that is the problem.
 
Seriously I never had one complaint about it before it has been a great comp and never had any issues and now just like BOOM FUCKING gay....there goes over 40gigs of music down the drain not to mention thousands of pictures...and to top it all off I'm fucking at work for another hour so I can't even burn to calm down
 
Your preachin to the choir when it comes to loosing shit. Im in college and i bought the laptop for school. I was probably 2 months into the semester when my computer froze and started making a high pitched whine, So i restart the thing and then all of a sudden it wont turn on anymore and all i get is the boot screen and it just gets stuck. After further inspection i found out my harddrive wasnt kicking on and it was fried. I lost 2 months worth of school work that was done and all the shit i was in the middle of. I had to drop 2 of my classes because i had lost so much work that was due that i couldnt make it up in time.

Super fucking shitty.
 
Lets hope you learn from this lesson and never trust important stuff to stay on an actual PC... get an external HD and back that sheeeeit up!
 
Damn, what model toshiba? I bought a Satellite about 2-1/2 years ago, still runs like a dream today. I have Windows 7 ultimate running, 4gb ram, 250gb hard drive, rarely gets hot. Still has 3 hours battery life on the original battery. Sucks man.
 
If its trashed I would suggest you pull it apart and get the hard drive. They sell cables to make an internal HD to an External this way you will not have lost everything. Do you have a home comp as well?
 
yank the hd and get all ur data back, there is a cable that goes from your laptop hd and connects to real pc. nowadays all laptops are toys just throw away items when they break. i abuse costcos return policy when it comes to electronics or pcs. i used to build computers now i grow herb. good freakin herb.
 
Oh yea, well I talked to my dad today he is an IT genius and he told me because it's a manufacturer issue that I can send it back and they will repair or replace it, being that it is still so new. He is also gonna try to recover as much from my harddrive as poss. I also found out from a friend that toshiba recently had a huge recall. So it still sucks but I'm MUCH happier now that I don't have to buy a new comp, but as soon as I am able to I'm investing in an apple!!!
 
i had a compaq that i would sit on my lap but have a pillow underneath it. it overheated for the last time a few days after....
 
Set up a online backup service or backup your hd daily thats what i do. Sorry for your loss i know what its like to loose all your data.
 
Damn, I prob shouldn't admit this but...I actually have an external HD that has a terabyte of space on it...my stoner ass just never got around to backing my shit up. FAIL
 
Believe it or not the best pc Ive owned is the one Im on now. Gateway PC with win7 home premium. Only real problem is sometimes it dont want to connect to home network and I get a dns error. But thats a winblows problem....Some Toshibas are ok but some are junk since they make a fairly cheap and affordable machine. But they also make some decent shit too. Im downloading ubutnu first chance I get so I can reformat My pc and run it instead.

Depending on the age of your machine, Id call Toshiba and see if any parts are on warranty and also google your model to see if similiar problems are consistent for that machine. Never heard of the screen burnin up and out. That sucks man,
