Fabric pots...white shit..fuck

Son of a biotch!!! Just got to flower, can see my purple beauties starting, and I just noticed fucking white shit on my fabric pots at their bases.





I imagine this means repotting???? During 3rd week flower ??

Going to research my ass off. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Lesson learned : don't inhibit air flow around your pots! Had my mini humidifier and 1 foot tall oscillating fan on boxes to help "flow" in the tent, but was only thinking about the plant above soil...

it's likely salt build up. what are you feeding and how often?
my first grow i had the same white buildup on fabric pots. plants still turned out fine, dried, cured, smoked, made oil, etc.
my second grow i learned that i shouldn't water so much at least watering, and to cut back a bit on the feeding frequency. i had zero white buildup for the second run.

Its fine. Its not PM.

I didn't think it's a salt build up, looks fuzzy like some type of mold or fungus. Could be beneficial natural soil stuff, could be bad. Myself, I'd attempt to wipe it clean and increase airflow around the pots and try to make it through the grow. I also elevate my fabric pots on little pieces of trim for more air flow.

Its mold. But its not harmful to the plants. Its common with fabric pots and rockwool.

Yeah the consensus through my Google is within yuns responses. Salt build up id believe if it wasn't a little fuzzy. But it does wipe easy

I've had it a couple of times on rockwool

It's likely mold. Salt is crystally and very easy to determine that it's salt. You can spray the outsides of the pots with peroxide, alcohol, you can spray some baking soda or potassium bicarbonate around that will inhibit mold growth, hypochlorous acid, pool shock, ...etc etc. It's likely not bad, but personally I don't use fabric pots, this being one of the reasons. Elevating the pots on risers helps too. Airflow is key. Rubbing the mold releases spores that will germinate wherever an ideal environment is found so be careful with that. Not just in your room but in your house too. Mold is no bueno in your home for your health and for the homes structural integrity over time. (Some mold of coarse is beneficial, but I'm no sciencey moldologist so I couldn't tell ya if it's good or bad)

Mold. Round patches amongst larger patches, puffy to touch, wipes away easily, leaves a puff in air when you touch it (not always visible)
Salt big blotches, crystals form, powdery/crystally to the touch, stings cuts on your hands.

Raising the pot off the ground will do wonders for air flow. Simple plant riser or milk crates work like a charm.

Just salts from the fertilizer. Once a week I flood the shit out of my pots with a little milder than usual feed until the trays are like an inch deep and shop vacuum all of it out and use it on my outdoor plants.. Black fabric pots are going to show salt accumulation super fast. Don't sweat it.

I def thought it was mold. I'm construction/carpenter focused for a living. Sooo lol it looked familiar. I've been meaning to get another fan to circulate air but money is superbly tight right now.

I went ahead and misted the outside of the pots' bases with diluted bleach; I'll get a better look at them in the morning with proper light.

Feed them more calcium and nitrogen

That explains why I got a razor blade cut on my finger stroking me pots and giving them a shake

Your right the salt stings but not as bad as ph down in a cut

I reckon a layer of thick course perlite about 2 inch thick at the bottom next grow that's what I'm going to do. Doesn't work well with thin perlite

I did that 2 days ago. As well as epsom salts. Problem is this is 2 feedings in a row without the fix. Tested soil pH with a soil+pill+water read of 6.0.

I did include milk, bib bloom, tiger bloom. J. The last half feed.

I'm considering doing a flush. Granted haven't done one before. But I've been feeding nutes at half dose since transplanting.. maybe I need to lighten up some lol.

Soil won't show fixes right away takes a week just watch it closely and soil ph should be more around 6.4 should say it on the bag the ph

Yeah. All depends if my babies get more yellowish as a whole. And I'm not sure what you mean by pH on the bag. Soil is mix of Jiffy Starter Mix+ Epsoma Starter Organics soil+perlite. So no bag to reference lol. Orr?? Am I missing a beat? Lol
